Damn proud of @ghanafoodmovement when this prize came in. A amazing recognition for 7 years of hard working and learning of the GFM team and the food community at large: Ghana's chefs, brands, farmers, processors, food brands and others.

Come and visit Ghana to explore all it's delicious food - and soo much more! by @pol_pauline

Let’s create a food wave... 🍫 🥑 🫚 🍠 🫘

In Angola, like in many places, there are waves / moments when certain jobs or sectors capture the imagination of a generation. What if food became one of them, not just something to enjoy, but a real career path?

I’m not saying this is easy work. Doing things differently (building something new / innovative) rarely comes with ready-made systems you can just plug into. We would have to create them as we go. That takes resilience, persistence, the courage to take risks, failing forward.

During my time here and at our first AFA community event, I’ve been learning from those pushing the food system forward. @heltaraujo @fundacao_ovinayetu @nutriboty @ookoo_angola @foodcare.ao @agri.heroes @feitoemangola.ao @undpangola @luandanightlife @talama.soba @benjamim_mbakassy @claudiocsilva @alfonso.videira @kissanje_restaurante (💚) to name a few.

🇬🇭✈️🇷🇼 What happens when Accra meets Kigali?

@pol_pauline journeys to Chef @dieuveilmalonga ‘s Culinary Innovation Village to experience the magic he is creating. Ɛyɛ adɔnn! African food is rich, African food is powerful, and we are here to celebrate it. She carried gifts from Ghana to share what we are building because when one of us rises, we all rise.

Sisters In The Hood 🌸🪩💜 by @pol_pauline

We laughed
We cried
We argued
We made decisions
We scrapped them
We went back to the drawing board
We jumped for joy
We recognized the mistakes
We learned
We moved … and haven’t stopped ever since.

We appreciate everything that’s coming our way in our journey of building The Kitchen 🙏🏾 Everyone on our team has played a vital role in the creation of this food education hub. It’s a teamwork situationship.

Creation Africa has definitely been a journey in which we found ourselves even more. We secured 15.000€ for the movement. That is essential money. 💰

We congratulate all other winners, as they all contribute to a thriving creative industry in Ghana and look forward to many collaborations! 🫱🏿‍🫲🏾

We are building our home, our dream: a food education hub for all food industry stakeholders in Ghana. From culinary professionals and farmers to and food brands and academia.

Our facility includes a professional shared kitchen space, co-working areas and meeting rooms on the first floor, dining spaces both indoors and outdoors, and an urban farm.

Starting in October, everyone interested in food could come and engage, work, learn, and connect with others involved in Ghana’s food system.

You are invited 🌶️

That was the Cocoa Food Fair 2024! Together with @nlinghana we showed what Ghana’s cocoapreneurs are doing along its value chain!

We are building “The Kitchen” — a Food Eduation Hub, equipping 1,000 youth with skills and knowledge to build a career in food!

This means:
> New jobs and skills development for young chefs, product developers, hospitality and farmers.
> Plenty innovation; new ideas, recipes, products, innovations collaborations and services in the kitchen and lab.
> Youth can kickstart their food products, brands, and restaurants and inspire consumers to patronise ‘Made in Ghana’ as well as healthy food choices.

75% is funded and in 2 weeks we are launching our global crowdfunding campaign to raise the last amount. You can become a founding member by contributing. We will share more info soon!

Let’s build a thriving Ghanaian food community! #buildthekitchen @ghanafoodmovement.
