PURPLE RAIN ! This photo was taken before what was supposed to be my first solo performance. Thank you @maverick.media.collective and @pwrpolefitness

I had poured my heart into choreographing a piece to Purple Rain by my favorite Prince. It’s a song about emotion, power, and transformation. It felt fitting. It felt big. (IYKYK) It was me.

During tech run the night before the show, I was injured from a bad landing, and the shows went on without me. (I still showed up in cast and crutches because I’m no quitter, till I have to)

There’s heartbreak in that. There’s disappointment. There’s a quiet kind of grief when something you’ve worked toward disappears in a moment. There’s grief for all that is lost or put on hold as a result of the injuries. (Broken ankle, MCL & Meniscus tears) - 📌Upgraded after MRI April 18 to have High Grade likely complete ACL Tear

This was supposed to be my one and done because I’ve always said that I’m a teacher, not a performer. But, the Solo didn’t happen. And grieving that moment has been real. Not just the dance… but what it represented. Courage. Growth. Stepping into something that scared me.

Even though I never got to perform it on stage, the work still mattered. (I have practice video of the well executed solo- check my Linktree) The strength still happened. The bravery still counts. Now Purple Rain holds new meaning for me.

Sometimes the performance isn’t for the audience — it’s for yourself.

And I’m still proud. ☔️ by @poletriss

FRIDAY POLE COMBOS! @___karmastudios

We’re wrapping up summer with our Flamingo Combo! 🦩

I was away a few Fridays for some scheduled weddings, so when I returned, we continued working on our combo to make sure everyone had the time I promised to explore all the elements, find their flow, and work at a level that challenged them without feeling rushed.

And of course… we had to keep those higher-level students challenged too! 💪🏽 So I’ve included a couple of versions featuring some of the added mods we worked into the combo.

For those who join me for Inversion Tricks, you’ll often get an introduction to some of the elements that make their way into our combos. It’s a great way to get familiar with the moves ahead of time and feel a little more prepared when we put it all together!

🗓️ New Combo Coming in October!
I’ll be introducing our next combo October 16, when I return from holidays.

If you love putting tricks together, finding your flow, and having fun while challenging yourself, come join us!

📌 Fridays at 9:00 PM @___karmastudios
Come learn, laugh and pole with us!#polecombos #fridaynights #puttingittogether #karmastudios #progressnotperfection by @poletriss

I remember who I am.

The woman who keeps showing up.
The woman who keeps learning. (And teaching)
The woman who refuses to let setbacks define her.

This Gemini Knot (what some people call it) is a move I recently taught in classes. Getting back to doing the things I love feels pretty damn good. 💜

Fear didn’t disappear… I just decided not to let it stop me. 👏🏽. Trust the Process!!

This is a transition I was teaching in class this week that required a little hop — something I’ve been nervous about attempting since my injury.

So this week I went for it. First attempt. (Yes, I was nervous) Only attempt. 🤣 I GOT IT! And it didn’t hurt 👏🏽 That’s not going to make me jump hurdles anytime soon though.

Was it clean? Nope. 😂
Was it perfect? Definitely not.
Was I proud of myself? 100%! Hellz Ya!!

One step, one hop, one conquered fear at a time.

$FRIDAY POLE COMBOS. July Pole Combo from my Friday 9 PM class at @___karmastudios. Base version with Parts 1 & 2 together – no modifications #poletrisscombo This injury has definitely changed the way I teach, but it hasn’t changed why I teach. When I first got hurt, I wasn’t sure what the future would look like. After meeting with my surgeon, I’m grateful to know that surgery isn’t necessary at this time, as long as I continue managing my injury #completeacltear and avoid further damage. It’s been a reminder that progress doesn’t always mean doing more—it sometimes means adapting, being patient, and finding new ways to keep moving forward. #loveteaching I may not be demonstrating every move the way I used to, but I hope I can show my students that strength isn’t just about what your body can do. It’s about resilience, perseverance, and continuing to show up even when things don’t go as planned. #nevergiveup Keep moving. Keep learning. Keep believing in yourself. Your journey doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. 💜 #polefitness My other classes in August: 💪🏽 Beginner 1/2 – Wednesdays & Fridays at 8 PM 💪🏽 Inversion Tricks – Wednesdays at 9 PM \(except Aug 12 & 28, when it will be Intermediate Pole) I will not be teaching on Friday, Aug. 7 or Aug. 21. by @poletriss$

Healing is reminding me that strength isn’t about never falling—it’s about having the courage to rise, climb, and inspire others along the way. #injuredpoler #leftacltear #nevergiveup #notdoneyet #polefitness by @poletriss

FRIDAY POLE COMBOS -June pole combo from my Friday 9PM class at Karma Studios. (Base version w/o mods)

Teaching while working through injury has reminded me how important it is to keep showing up, adapting, and growing. Every class has been a chance to reconnect, challenge myself (and others), and keep doing what I love.

So grateful for everyone who has come out to train with me and trust me in their journey. Your support means everything. You are appreciated. KEEP GOING! Practice is progress.

July is coming with a new combo, new challenges, and more opportunities to build strength, confidence, and skills. Join me for Pole Combos Fridays at 9PM at @___karmastudios — let’s keep growing together. 🪴 #karmastudios #polefitness #aclinjury #loveteaching #poletrisscombo

Some student/instructor connections become truly special. 💜

Wednesday at @___karmastudios I had the pleasure of sharing a class with someone who has followed me through three different studios over the years. (I must be doing something right!) The fact that she continues to support my classes means more than I can put into words.

Thank you for your trust, your encouragement, and for being part of this journey with me wherever it leads. Your support reminds me why I love teaching and why I’m not ready to stop. Grateful for the photo, the memories, and your unwavering support. A great surprise visit!! Always a pleasure to have you in my classes. Happy Showcase Weekend to all of the amazing PWR students! ❤️

This showcase is a little bittersweet for me, as it will be the first one I’ve missed. Due to my injury, I wasn’t able to be involved in choreographing a piece this time around, but my heart is absolutely with all of you. @pwrpolefitness

I know firsthand the hours of training, rehearsals, nerves, excitement, and dedication that go into preparing for the stage. Every performance represents so much hard work and courage, and I couldn’t be more proud of everyone stepping into the spotlight this weekend.

While I’ll be cheering from the sidelines, I’ll be sending all my love and support to the students, instructors, and everyone behind the scenes making the magic happen. I can’t wait to see the photos and videos and celebrate your accomplishments.

Break a leg (figuratively, please 😉), have fun, and shine bright. You’ve earned this.

So proud of you all. 👏🏽💜 #studioshowcase #supporteachother #thereinspirit #pwrpoleandfitness #throughtheages by @poletriss

Back on the pole at home.

It ain’t over till it’s over.

While prepping for class, I took a little time for myself to move, explore, and reconnect with what I love- Pole. It may not look the same as before, but I’m grateful to still be showing up and finding my way forward. #aclinjury #homepractice Inspired by @k.swiech #classpreptime #rebuilding #itaintovertillitsover by @poletriss
