And just like that, the curtains of my collegiate track career have been drawn closed. I stepped onto the track in Eugene two weeks ago just as I did at my first meet freshman year: determined beyond reason. I crossed the finish line heartbroken, but proud of how unyielding I was in chasing my dream. I’m leaving collegiate athletics having not achieved most of my goals yet. What I AM leaving with is a community of people that I would die for. I’ve met my best friends, with whom I’ve laughed, cried, cheered, consoled, and made infinitely cherish-able memories. The past four years I’ve spent with all of you has been more than worth every single tribulation we’ve experienced together. I’m eternally grateful for everyone that has rooted for me and supported me during my career thus far. As of right now, my path has no clear next stepping stone, but, what I can tell you, is that I’m not done. I won’t be for a long time. I’ll find my way or make one. KP over and out. by @politzaxctf

Push past all odds stacked against you. I’d be lying if I said that my running career was only sunshine and rainbows. Coming into regionals this year, I was feeling overwhelming pressure: pressure to perform for my family/friends, pressure to have fun, pressure to perform for the sake of my future in running, and most of all, pressure to run a race that I was finally proud of. Nevertheless, in the midst of this pressure, I was still excited! Then on the morning before first rounds, I woke up with a fever, congestion, and the whole 9-yards of illness. Quite frankly, my heart sunk to my ass and I immediately started doubting my chances of making it to nationals. But, I lined up anyway, feeling like trash, knowing that I had a job to do. I’ve never run harder in my life and it snuck me through to quarter finals with a little q. One day later it was time to race again, and I realized that it could be my last as a collegiate athlete. Memories of my years at not just OSU, but at Valpo High School too, started flooding my mind. The people you meet and friends you make through running make this the great sport it is. Thinking of all my people, memories with them, and that fact that they were all rooting for me, crowded around a track waiting for me, calmed every single nerve I had. I approached the starting line with the utmost determination to make them proud and to make myself proud. If Saturday regional quarterfinals was going to be my last race, I wanted it to be one that demonstrated every ounce of tenacity I have. Now, lo and behold, it was not my last race. The Cowgirl 4x800 Meter Relay squad is officially the eighth individual/relay in program history to be named Big 12 Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week after crushing the Drake Relays record and clocking the second-best mark in NCAA history!

Let it rip. Roaring crowds of my closest family and friends. Willed my way to the line with everything I had and Gods hand pushing me forward. 10 second mile PR anchor leg (ecstatic to say I can run 4:30 now🥹). All-American with the most spunky, fantastic group of women I’ve had the privilege of holding the baton with. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out my last indoor season. Trials and tribulations led me to this moment. I’m proud to have looked them in the face and carried on with faith :) by @politzaxctf
