My soul had been rippling for many years with the prospect of knowing ayahuasca and when i finally joined her for the first time i was blown away. The ancient power and wisdom that resides in this sacred medicine changed me forever. What began with waves of primal psychic knowing and visions of indescribable beauty quickly transitioned to the great spirit peeling away the layers of my consciousness and showing me the deepest facets of my being that i was either afraid to face or had forgotten altogether in my journey through samsara. Music, the first language, how it has guided me. While my curanderos sang beautiful icaros of prayer and wisdom my ego quickly was pounded into oblivion to the beat of the drum. It was like the hammer of time forging my soul against the anvil of my will, and the beat went on and on and on until i was inevitably able to surrender to the divine understanding in the presence of the light of God. My self-righteous thoughts, my passionate love, every aspect of my humanity was all laid out before me then washed away by Grandmother Ayahuasca. It was only then that i saw the majesty of the ever-unfolding path of light that we all walk together. A unified field of endless, unconditional love and gratitude. The light of Buddha, the Christ consciousness, the fractal expansion of infinite, ever changing unity. Timeless. Unable to be known but fully understood. How can we fully understand infinity? It is within us at all times. I was finally home, because i had found the center of my being: my beating heart and light it generates within me. Finally, the power and endless unfolding of this vision, although immensely beautiful, became too overwhelming and i purged. Hard. I felt clean again in my soul. Sensing my distress my dear curandero came to my side to remind me of my grounding breath and cleansed me with mapacho, guiding me to rest. I have been hard on myself my whole life. The world can be a hard place to be. We are imperfect creatures, but we are surrounded by love if we only choose to see it. Pura Vida๐Ÿ๏ธ The Caribbean coast and the majesty of the life here has enchanted me beyond words, but i will do my best to share everything i can. After nearly two weeks of powerful lessons, new friendships, and deep jungle medicine i look forward to returning to my home in Nashville. I am changed for the better. The journey facilitated at @inner_flight_retreat was exactly what i needed to return to my true self, unlock greater understanding of my world, and heal the pieces of me that have been damaged while navigating this mysterious life. This would not have been possible without my dear friend and mentor Kim @ownyourohmhealth whose guidance and leadership has been invaluable to my growth as a human. The beautiful space at Goddess Garden was the perfect home and it even came with a divine feline protector who stayed by my side with endless compassion. The wisdom and power of Kambo was the first step on my path this week. The Giant Monkey Frog is a fearless creature with a complex, immune-boosting peptide secretion that was applied to superficial burns to activate a cleaning of the mind and lymphatic system. It taught me lessons of purging impurity, sitting with discomfort, and releasing fear to heal myself and grow stronger so that i may better my world. The power of the sea cannot be understated here. The negative ions and alkalinity generated by the pounding, clear water were paramount in reviving my energies this week and relaxing my mind and body. We also had a lot of fun when we werenโ€™t doing hard spiritual work. Kayaking the brackish waters with our knowledgeable guide Shiloh was a highlight of the trip. And the flora! My God the flowers here are absurd in their size, beauty, and novel design. Mother Earth really did her thing here. The Golden Silk Spider. These massive arachnids were incredible to behold. Some were the size of my palm and, while harmless, were all decorated with a skull resting upon their heads. A powerful memento mori in a jungle full of life ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ Also snagged a bunch of local cacao and will be joyously sharing with friends when i return. My new friends and my vecinos in ceremony.
