Feeling a little verklempt as I announce THE MIDNIGHT RACE!

I first started dreaming up a story about a girl interacting with the animals of the Chinese Zodiac during the Covid-19 pandemic; I wanted young AAPI readers to feel pride and curiosity in their culture at a time when they desperately needed it.

And then, it became a story about fighting through adversity and having a madcap adventure, even when you don’t know what's waiting for you at the end. So excited for all of you to read.

I’m so grateful to @annmarie.wong and @kate_a_farrell for championing this story and patiently helping me work out the logic of a graphic novel in every way possible, @mollykh_tba for being amazing (as always!) and @polymorphin_ for gamely agreeing to lend her brilliant skills to the project.

I’m also SO grateful for friends like @caseyklyall @brandonhoangwrites for happily sharing their graphic novel projects with me, as I fumbled my way through my first few drafts. This book wouldn’t exist with you guys. ❤️ by @polymorphin_

#artvsartist2024 🌟

Even though I didn’t draw a lot, it was a wild year seeing my first book jacket illustration, making new art merch, writing a nearly-done first draft of my Filipino witchy comic— and unexpectedly last minute one of my fave arts made the longlist in the 2024 @booooooom Illustration Awards :)

Special thank you to my fabulous agent @agentzacker at @galltzacker @galltzackerart 🌟 And to everyone for all the love and support!! I’m cheering all of you on your own adventures too. I’m excited to keep it going, keep evolving and own my confidence/self-esteem a bit more in 2025 📚🌈 Cheers!

Autumnal Esther & Lyra fits 🍁 #oc

I started a new non-artsy job! It‘s been a mix of new motivation to draw + little energy to do it BUT it’s also reminding me how I wanted to finish Esther and Lyra’s first story draft before NYE so finding ways to make that happen ✍️🫠 #originalcharacter #witch #filipino #comics #graphicnovel #digitalillustration #characterillustration #art #drawing #characterart by @polymorphin_
