This week marks the opening of 𝑃𝑒𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑜𝑟 at @marianeibrahimgallery in Paris—my first solo exhibition overseas—and I couldn’t be more excited! 💚 The exhibition is part of 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, a duo show curated by the incredible Marisol Rodríguez @itsmaaareesol, featuring a solo presentation by Elsa-Louise Manceaux @elsalouisemx on the first floor and mine on the second. PARIS I Closing This Week Intersections Hilda Palafox & Elsa-Louise Manceaux On view through October 3, 2026 Spanning the gallery’s two floors, “Intersections” brings the work of artists Elsa-Louise Manceaux and Hilda Palafox to Paris, marking the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between France and Mexico while highlighting the distinct approaches and shared points of convergence between their practices. Manceaux’s “Surfaces of Exchange” brings together radio-painting, painting, sound, language, and moving image, while Palafox’s “Petricor” explores ecofeminism, collective experience, and the relationship between the body and landscape through monumental female figures. — Déployée sur les deux niveaux de la galerie, “Intersections” présente à Paris les œuvres des artistes Elsa-Louise Manceaux et Hilda Palafox, à l’occasion du bicentenaire des relations diplomatiques entre la France et le Mexique, tout en mettant en lumière les approches singulières et les points de convergence de leurs pratiques. “Surfaces of Exchange”, d’Elsa-Louise Manceaux, réunit peinture radiophonique, peinture, son, langage et image en mouvement, tandis que “Petricor”, de Hilda Palafox, explore l’écoféminisme, l’expérience collective et la relation entre le corps et le paysage à travers des figures féminines monumentales. Germen, 2026 Esta pieza forma parte de 𝑃𝑒𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑜𝑟, en @marianeibrahimgallery París. 💚 *** Fragmento de texto de sala de Marisol Rodríguez: Una figura emerge de una flor, retomando una imagen de la tradición visual mesoamericana, mientras el bajorrelieve hace aparecer las formas mediante la sustracción de materia. No parece tratarse tanto de regresar a un origen como de imaginar la vida como una sucesión de transformaciones: cuerpo en flor, flor en cuerpo, materia que contiene siempre la posibilidad de convertirse en otra cosa. Quizá sea allí donde Petricor encuentra su imagen más precisa. El olor que da nombre a la exposición tampoco pertenece enteramente a la lluvia ni enteramente a la tierra. Aparece únicamente cuando ambas entran en contacto. Es producto de un encuentro que no siempre es armónico. “Petricor dirige la mirada hacia aquello que emerge cuando el agua regresa los vínculos, la transformación y las formas de vida que solo pueden existir en relación con otras”, precisa la artista. PARIS I Now On View Intersections Hilda Palafox & Elsa-Louise Manceaux On view through October 3, 2026 On the first floor, as part of “Intersections”, Hilda Palafox presents “Petricor”, a body of work that deepens her ongoing investigation into ecofeminism, collective experience, and the relationship between the body and the landscape. Evoking the dampness of the earth after rainfall and the scent released when the first drops touch the ground, the paintings depict monumental female figures who support one another, negotiate, and labor collectively until they merge with their surroundings. Drawing on the legacies of muralism and modernism while engaging with contemporary concerns, Palafox develops a painterly language that imagines new forms of sisterhood, solidarity, and coexistence with the living world. -- Au premier étage, dans le cadre d’Intersections, Hilda Palafox présente Petricor, un ensemble d’œuvres qui approfondit ses recherches autour de l’écoféminisme, de l’expérience collective et des relations entre le corps et le paysage. Évoquant l’humidité de la terre après la pluie ainsi que l’odeur qui s’en dégage lorsque les premières gouttes touchent le sol, ces peintures mettent en scène d’imposantes figures féminines qui se soutiennent, négocient et œuvrent ensemble, jusqu’à se fondre dans leur environnement. Entre héritage du muralisme, vocabulaire moderniste et préoccupations contemporaines, Palafox élabore une peinture qui imagine de nouvelles formes de sororité, de solidarité et de coexistence avec le vivant. Spanning the gallery’s two floors, the exhibition highlights both the singularity of their practices and the points of convergence that bring them into dialogue. Manceaux’s “Surfaces of Exchange” explores painting in relation to language, sound, and moving image, while Palafox’s “Petricor” investigates ecofeminism, collective experience, and the relationship between the body and the natural world. — À l’occasion du bicentenaire des relations diplomatiques entre la France et le Mexique, “Intersections” réunit les œuvres d’Elsa-Louise Manceaux (Paris, 1985) et de Hilda Palafox (Mexico, 1982), réaffirmant l’engagement de la galerie à favoriser les échanges entre les scènes artistiques des deux pays. Mon avril. Un mes de residencia en la Provenza. Días llenos de colores y paisajes, nuevos amigos y conversaciones hermosas, de amapolas salvajes y lavanda, de noches estrelladas y apéro; de caminatas por la montaña y aventuras en bici por Luberon.
