Some silly sneak previews of things coming in soon...!!

Long time no post etc etc

I’ve been chugging away at the whole grad school thing… I’m two weeks out from finishing my first year 🌱

That said, it’s made me even worse at updating my socials! My bad… I’m going to try and incrementally post some of the things I’ve been working on over the next few weeks.
This has been a year of trying (and failing! and trying again!) so many new mediums and techniques. I cannot wait to share the results and start pulling things back towards my own practices. What a treat!!!! by @possum.ink

Happy Anniversary to my loves. I drew this soon after we started dating, it’s funny how long ago that is now. The specifics of my sentimentalities are private, but just trust, I’m obsessed with you two. As if I don’t wear my heart on my sleeve, I think people can just see how I look at you and know I’m down bad. The teddy bear’s name is Ernie btw, I’ve had him since I was 9 and I still sleep with him. by @possum.ink

Inspired by the incredible efforts of Jamie Foster and researchers at NASA/SpaceX/ the Kewalo Marine Laboratory …..

They’re sending squids into space!
This linoleum block was inspired by the UMAMI study, and NASA’s efforts to understand how the manipulation of microbiology can aid in long term space travel. Hawaiian bobtail squids are slipping the surly bonds of earth and roaming amongst the stars. Do they know the significance of this? Do they know where their travels have taken them, so far from home? I have been thinking about this a lot, and felt inspired to make the linoleum print celebrating the little fellas. by @possum.ink

Scales and Feathers
flesh demanding
eat worms

A lovely little piece I started using a ton of novel and unfamiliar painting techniques …. I think it worked out really nice! Introducing Wood and sandpaper to my process feels quite kismet with the way that I like to work in layers to build up color and texture. Excited to do more explorations like this!
