minced lives! and we’re trying to blow some tops in this bich.

We’ve returned to our 1722 stomping grounds and are so thrilled to highlight @rivsntings & @world_of_rau , multidisciplinary artists and founders of the Bay Area label, @joogmusic

As labelheads, Rivs & Rau have gathered a sonically expansive roster of bass & breaks artists, creating an ingenious and ill collection of sounds we’ve endorsed from the very beginning of this party series. Definitely start with the For the Low (End Lovers) compilations if you're not already on the Joog train.

As a producer, Rivs crafts albums giving introspective 90's Jungle Tekno Compilation energy, fresh & low-slung R&B reworks, and lighthearted yet heavy-hitting throttlers for the dancers who like to get kinda wild.

Rau, taking creative lead with Joog’s graphic design, has lent their critical ear and had a significantly illuminating impact on Rivs’ productions. They’ve begun to join Rivs as a fellow DJ, and when we asked Rivs which Joog artist would be an ideally accompanying fit for this show, Rau was his first and unquestionable choice.

Despite the PST to EST distance, Joog has played a truly major role in stoking the flames of 160 festivities within Baltimore City. This label has provided a production platform for two of our residents, @poutysrage @killteamscx , shared their well of adroit, inescapably catchy bass & breaks tunes, and is run by two hella talented & upstanding humans.
Deciding on a meaningful and slamming summertime featured artist was pretty clear here

It's been a minute and we’ve missed you speed demons🖤♡🌀, pls gather ur finest innocuously feral steps & fits and we'll see you in a month 😎

✼ SWINE PREMIERE ✼ Baltimore-based producer @poutysrage track "Strictly Hardcore" from the new compilation by @joogmusic

▮ Joog Sound says: "For our 3rd compilation, we’ve gathered 30 tunes from returning artists and new friends! We start in the 160 & jungle spectrums but break off into so many more styles. Always the dancer in mind, we strive to find tunes that tickle our brains with a plethora of different sounds and interesting textures! The track list was put together as if one were putting together a DJ mix. This helps the tracks flow with cohesion. It feels like we have honed in on our Joog sound. We have grown alongside the producers that keep coming back with their refined sound. With each listen, we take you on a ride across a universe of emotion, chaos, drum breaks, and a full spectrum of baselines." ▮

We took January off for a much needed break and reset. We wanna welcome the new year with the 2nd installment of Junglevania on Friday, Feb 20, hosted by @gozuthedj and @asatbrian !

This time we welcome @poutysrage from Baltimore bringing that intersection of jungle, drum & bass, techno, and club. We're also excited to bring @djripley and @dj_aye_v back to Nameless to throw down some jungle selects! As usual, Gozu and Asat are the residents and hosts of Junglevania

Our mission: This is a night dedicated to the full spectrum of jungle music, connecting the old school with the new. From hardcore to breakcore, jungle tekno to techstep, ragga to atmospheric, we intend to showcase the many faces of jungle to build community and connect with the greater US jungle scene
