I can’t express how much gratitude I have to compete at Battle of the Bay XII 🤩🙌🏾 10/10 would recommend! 😏

I put a lot of work in the gym for this event, but I put even more of that work in for myself. When I participate in these powerlifting meets, I realize that some people don’t just lift because they love it, some people lift specifically for that event, they’re putting energy and effort towards a goal that isn’t the path of least resistance. To an extent, we all are. It is because of sacrifices that people have made to be there to participate, they’re moved to appreciate it more and are moved to give back to the sport by other means such as donating time, effort or money to keep these events going year after year. All of these athletes that I competed with and next to have contributed greatly this past weekend. Everyone sacrificed a good amount of something to be there, and I felt it. I’m not the greatest at expressing what I feel, but it does manifest with smiles and good vibes.

Shoutout to EVERY single coach @legacybarbellfl thank you gym family, thank you to the many donors @primehrt @darkhorsemassage @uspaflorida (Mr. Scott, I dont know his @) and many others whom I talk to every time I see you, thank you to my friends and family outside of the gym @jhscott_iv @the.bit.books thank you all for scrolling by hitting the heart ❤️ button on my contextless fitness reels and I appreciate everyone to competed, managed and/or donated to this event. 🙌🏾

I wanna thank all of the athletes that showed up with good vibes and competed. Thanks to all the coaches herding cats, & thanks to all the spotters & helpers that come in and do their part to make the meets move.

I didn’t meet my primary goal or secondary goal, but I met a bunch of people who weren’t scared to test themselves in front of a lot of strangers.

I got a gold in submasters & a silver in open but most importantly I got a taste of some character building after things didn’t go how I planned 😂

I didn’t do my best today but it was a hell of a lot of fun, it was all smiles and good vibes from start to finish!
