Another year, another epic day of BIG DAMN PRINTS!!!
On April 21st our printmakers were all inky hands on deck working together to print their big woodcuts with the steamroller (shoutout Angel) 💪 Ink was spilled and major fun was had #teamwork 🏆🏆🏆 by @prattprint

Fine Arts Printmaking proudly presents Big Damn Prints for the 20th time on Tuesday, April 21st! TOMORROW!!

Printmaking’s Inkyest will be setting up on the Grand Walk between Pantas Hall and Pratt Studios/Steuben Hall and getting rolling by mid-morning at 10 AM. With a few breaks in the day, they’ll be printing their massive woodcuts with a steam roller solidly until 4 - 4:30 pm.

Folks that want to see the spectacle of more than a dozen individually authored, 40 x 80-inch hand-carved woodcut blocks getting rolled up with thick, gooey ink and run over by heavy machinery should come by during the height of the action 10 AM - 4 PM. During this time all hands will be on deck to help move, ink, and place the fabric to be printed with the synchronicity of a varsity drill team. Over the years we have found that we can run over about 14-16 woodcuts with a steam roller two times in the 8 hours that we have our licensed operator. Led by their fearless instructor of record Martin Mazorra, these comrades will experience the time-honored tradition of Pratt Institute’s Fine Arts Printmaking Department’s only open-air live printing party with a steam roller, BIG DAMN PRINTS!
