Arun Kumar has been understood more than explained.
That’s all one could hope for.

#arunkumar #prayrakmehta #kohrra2

Stepping into the world of Kohrra Season 2 has been an experience I’ll never forget. This show has always been about peeling back layers moving past a simple murder mystery to expose the raw truths of family trauma, hidden motives, and the tough road to healing.

This season, the storytelling is split into two threads that slowly bleed into one another. You have the relentless investigation into Preet Bajwa’s death, driven by Garundi (Barun Sobti) and Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh). And then there is Arun. He is a young man from Jharkhand mourning his father, who suddenly finds himself swept up in a case he never anticipated.

Bringing Arun to life challenged me in the best ways, and his quiet complexities are something I still carry with me.
Your support for Arun Kumar means the world to me, and I’m excited to bring more of these journeys to the big screen soon." taken in Punjab, India by @prayrakmehta

I have rehearsed a thousand versions of this post. None of them were good enough.
So, ill just say “Shadows of the Moonless Nights”, Official Selection for La Cinef programme of the 79th Cannes Film Festival! We made it! That’s the whole story. That’s everything.
Cannes doesn’t select actors. It selects films. In this case, someone made something they believed in, I happened to be in front of the camera and world’s greatest film festival said yes !
I don’t know what I expected this feeling to be. It’s quieter than I thought. Gratitude feels like a small word for something this large. But it’s the only honest one I have.
Wild proof that the gap between where you start and where a story can take you is not fixed.
See you on the Croisette! :)

My grandfather’s younger brother passed away recently. We fondly called him Sattu Kaka.
I’ve been thinking about him a lot, and about the quiet ways he chose to stay close to the family.
He was an incredibly intellectual and ever-curious man. But what I loved most was that he was curious about what I was curious about.
If I told him I was interested in something, he’d go away and read about it. Not because he had to, but because he wanted to build a relationship with his grandson. He didn’t want to become that “boring” grandfather who you only speak to out of obligation.
When I was younger, I was completely fascinated by wildlife. Most of my family thought it was just a phase. But he took it seriously. He asked questions, remembered things, and genuinely cared.
I eventually started my career in wildlife photography, and it means more to me than I can explain that he took that part of me seriously from the very beginning. As my work became more technical, so did our conversations. He kept up.
I think that’s what I’ll miss most. The questions. The little things he remembered. The effort he made to understand my world.
Connection takes effort. And, man, did he make that effort with me and @prayrakmehta .
I’m going to miss him very much.
Rest in peace, Dada. You were an inspiration. taken in Ahmedabad, India by @prayrakmehta
