Do you resonate with this? Precision EMDR™️ is a systematic methodology that curates and synthesizes the wisdom of the field for the treatment of Complex PTSD and Attachment Trauma. Learn Francine Shapiro’s original model - couched from the start in a strategic methodology designed for treating the complexity we see in our practices every day! 👩🏻‍💻 Join us for EMDR Basic Training this summer! ✨PrecisionEMDR.com✨ #EMDRTraining #TraumaTherapy #TherapistTools #HealingTrauma #MentalHealthProfessionals #TherapistLife #PrecisionEMDR by @precisionemdr
My why for Precision EMDR is to do things differently, to do things better - because our clients with Complex Developmental Trauma and Non-Secure Attachment need and deserve it! As do our clients with PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and everything else! 🩵 Basic Training is the foundation for EMDR Certification (EMDRIA-approved, 42 APA + NBCC CE hrs, offered via Zoom, client worksheets offered in both English and Spanish).   Precision EMDR is a boutique training agency dedicated to excellence in preparing clinicians to provide safe and effective EMDR therapy.   We’ve spent the last few years creating a training program that is up-leveled in every aspect - more depth, more support, more integration of identity, race, and culture into every phase, more focus on attachment and complex trauma.   Do you value excellence, want mentorship, need to be equipped to effectively treat complexity, and love nerdy fun? The capes are optional. But attachment repair — layered strategically into EMDR — can change everything. 🦸🏻‍♀️🤍 One of the most powerful things about EMDR for Complex Developmental Trauma is what becomes possible when the adult self can begin to see their little self with loving eyes — and offer the protection, nurture, and care that were missing. But what happens when the adult self can’t? Those moments can reveal so much about the attachment strategies that have kept the little self stuck — and point toward the attachment repair that’s needed. 🎥 Curious about how to recognize when this kind of repair is needed? Comment WATCH or 4 and I’ll send you Episode 4 of my video series based on this year’s EMDRIA Conference presentation. 📺 Wanting to catch up from the beginning? Comment 1 for Episode 1, introducing the attachment repair procedures. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Comment GROUP and I’ll send you the Interest Form for our November Consultation Groups. Our Certification and Advanced Certification Consultation Groups pair expert mentorship with advanced coursework covering the full arc of what’s possible with EMDR for Complex Developmental Trauma — from decoding symptoms and mapping trauma memory networks to repairing attachment. 💌 Share this with a therapist who would love to join you as study buddy! ✨PrecisionEMDR.com✨ #EMDRBasicTraining #EMDRIACertification #EMDRAdvancedTraining #OnlineEMDRTraining #PrecisionEMDR by @precisionemdr
Even trauma therapists can get a little spooked. 😳 Especially when the stories our clients carry keep haunting the present. But when we understand what’s showing up, can trace the patterns back to their roots, and have a map for navigating the complexity, those ghosts don’t have to be quite so frightening. Not for us. And not for the clients who trust us with their stories. We’d love to help you find your way. 🔦📍🗺️ And this Thursday, we’re offering a few treats to help you get started! 👻 The Precision EMDR Ghost Sale is Thursday, October 29! ONE DAY ONLY! It shows up... and then it vanishes. ✨ 20% off ALL Advanced Trainings: - Precision EMDR Refresher Essentials + Expanded (inlcuding bundle pricing) - Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma Part 1 + 2 (including bundle pricing) - Introduction to Working with Dissociative Identity Disorder - Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing - Betrayal Trauma Beyond the Bedroom - Improving Clinical Outcomes through Trauma-Informed Focus on Clinician & Client Self Care ✨ An extra $100 off Spring EMDR Basic Training Early Registration! It’s almost Halloween, so I couldn’t resist. 👻 Some of the spookiest moments in EMDR for Complex Developmental Trauma don’t look spooky at all. The SUD is 0, the VoC is 7, it’s moving, shifting, changing - and yet the attachment patterns haven’t changed. So often, that’s because of what lies beneath: a little one who learned to need less, be more, and hold the shame, just to stay connected to caregivers who couldn’t (or wouldn’t) give them what they needed. And those attachment strategies don’t always surface on their own. That’s why, when a client has sufficient readiness capacity, reprocessing the trauma memory and hoping the attachment pieces take care of themselves isn’t always enough. Sometimes the attachment system needs to be brought into the work on purpose. Because that little ghost has been waiting a long time for someone to come back for them. 🤍 🎥 Comment WATCH and I’ll send you the link to Episode 3 of my video series from my EMDRIA Conference talk - where I walk through how I do this, and when it belongs first in Preparation - or even with implicit preverval memory instead. 📫 Comment MAIL to hear when Episode 4 drops - how to meaningfully assess whether your client needs this work. 📌 Save this for the next time the numbers say “done” but the haunting patterns say otherwise. 💌 Send this to your EMDR therapist bestie who has a soft spot for little ghosts - and wants to help their clients see them with loving eyes, too. 🤍 PEA•bot•E 🧠🤓🤖 is Precision EMDR Academy’s resident quick responder. Knowing how to do attachment repair is one piece. Knowing when it belongs in the work is another. 🤍 🎥 Comment WATCH and I’ll send you the link to Episode 3 of my video series from my EMDRIA Conference talk - where I walk through how I make these decisions, and how I bring attachment repair into reprocessing, into Preparation, and into preverbal work. When a client has sufficient readiness capacity, my first choice is to layer attachment repair right into reprocessing. That’s where I see the deepest changes - not only in the memory, but in how the client relates to themselves and others. And when a client needs more foundation first - or the trauma happened before there was a memory to tell - attachment repair has a place there, too. Credit to the greats: Pathogenic kernels comes from Van der Hart, Nijenhuis, and Steele’s The Haunted Self. Memory reconsolidation - pairing activation with disconfirming information - draws on the work of Bruce Ecker and colleagues in Unlocking the Emotional Brain. 📺 Missed Episodes 1 + 2? Start with Jim Knipe’s Loving Eyes Procedure - the layer everything else builds on. It’s linked in the notes for Episode 3. 📫 Comment MAIL to hear when Episode 4 drops - how to meaningfully assess whether your client needs this work. 📌 Save this for the next time you’re deciding where attachment repair belongs. 💌 Send this to the EMDR therapist buddy who would love to think this through with you. 🤍 PEA•bot•E 🧠🤓🤖 is Precision EMDR Academy’s resident quick responder. Because learning EMDR isn’t just about learning the protocol. It’s about understanding why we’re doing what we’re doing. Train with us. 👻🌳👻 The Precision EMDR Ghost Sale is LIVE! TODAY ONLY! The haunting can end. 🪄✨ Those old attachment strategies do not always surface just because a trauma memory is moving, shifting, changing during standard EMDR reprocessing. Deliberately summoning the adult self can break the spell that held the little self in a ghost-like existence, bound to old strategies and attachment rules. An eye of love, a pinch of protection, a snip of nurture, and a drop of play - delivered by the adult self in the here and now - can transform pain and illusions into the experience of security and met need. Curious about how to assess for when this magic is needed? Comment WATCH for the link to Episode 4 of the video series based on my talk at this year’s EMDRIA Conference. Episodes 1-3 cover the attachment repair potions themselves. Comment 1, 2, or 3 for what’s up next for you in the series. 👻📫 Our Ghost Sale will appear for ONE DAY only sometime during Halloween week - and once it vanishes, it’s gone. Comment MAIL to join the mailing list and be notified the moment it appears. New EMDR tricks. Treat-sized prices. On the trainings that have already been haunting you (in the best way!). ✨ 20% off ALL Precision EMDR Advanced Trainings - including the Bundle prices for the Precision EMDR Refresher and our Advanced Courses in Complex Developmental Trauma ✨ An extra $100 off Spring Basic Training Early Registration It’s our Black Friday/Cyber Monday pricing - a friendly apparition showing up a month early. Early enough for you to jump into a November Consultation Group before the sale disappears. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Already eyeing a November group? EMDR is not always EMDR done well. 👻 And the scariest part is that clients may conclude from a single experience that EMDR means flooding, destabilization, or mediocre effects — when they may actually be experiencing the limitations of their therapist’s training, not the limitations of EMDR itself. Francine Shapiro gave us an extraordinary model. But knowing how to follow the protocol and knowing how to think in EMDR are not the same thing. We need to understand what’s driving the symptoms, how trauma memory networks are organized, what our clients need to be ready for reprocessing, and how to strategically navigate the work when things get complicated. Because EMDR done well isn’t just about knowing what to do next. It’s about understanding why. And that’s why, at Precision EMDR, we teach Shapiro’s original model with a framework for complex trauma and attachment woven in from the very beginning of Basic Training. Then our consultation groups take that framework deeper, combining mentorship with advanced trainings on strategically navigating Complex Developmental Trauma. And we don’t stop there. Our Advanced Course Library includes specialized trainings in dissociation, narcissistic abuse, betrayal trauma, and trauma-informed self-care for clinicians and clients. Because no matter how long we’ve been doing this work, we’re never done learning. Whether you’re ready to learn EMDR or looking to deepen the work you’re already doing, we’d love to help you build that clinical precision. 👻 The Precision EMDR Ghost Sale is this Thursday, 10/29! 20% off ALL Advanced Trainings, including bundle pricing! A few weeks ago, 440 people registered for my EMDRIA Conference talk on Complex Trauma and Attachment. The room only held 150. So I decided to make the room bigger. A whole lot bigger. I decided to start with the part I get the most questions about - how to repair the trauma of unmet attachment needs using EMDR. Episode 1 - Where the work begins Episode 2 - How it gets layered Episode 3 - When and where you use it 🎥 Comment WATCH or 1 and I’ll send you the link to the first video in the series. Already started? Comment 2 or 3 and I’ll send you the next one, so it’s easy to pick up where you left off. 📌 Save this as your “start here” for the attachment-repair series. 💌 Send this to the EMDR therapist you’d absolutely want sitting next to you in that bigger room. 📫 Comment MAIL and I’ll keep you in the room as the series keeps growing. 🤍 PEA•bot•E 🧠🤓🤖 is Precision EMDR Academy’s resident quick responder. Starting at the root is not the same thing as diving in recklessly. Yes, the client needs sufficient readiness capacities for reprocessing to be safe and effective. But once that is true, I don’t start with the easiest, most recent trauma. I start where the learning began. And when I do, I don’t just reprocess the earliest trauma memory and hope the attachment pieces take care of themselves. I simultaneously shore up the attachment system. Because those early attachment strategies to maintain connection at all costs don’t always naturally surface just because reprocessing is moving, shifting, changing. Ideally, I activate the trauma memory while bringing in the adult self to see the little self with loving eyes, meet what was missed, protect, retrieve, and tuck in. That is where I see the deepest changes - not only in the memory, but in how the client relates to themselves and others. And then there are times I do this differently. Sometimes attachment repair belongs in Preparation because the client does not yet have enough internal or external adaptive resources to do this work inside an activated trauma memory. And sometimes the work is with implicit, preverbal trauma, where there may not be an explicit memory to target at all. This same sequence can give us a way into material laid down before the client has a specific memory to target. That is what Episode 3 is really about: When can attachment repair be layered into reprocessing? When does it belong first in Preparation? And what do we do when the trauma happened before there was a memory to tell? 🎥 Comment WATCH for the link to Episode 3 of my video series from my EMDRIA Conference talk. 📌 Save this for the next time you’re deciding whether attachment repair belongs before, during, or alongside reprocessing. 💌 Send this to the EMDR therapist who will immediately have thoughts about starting at the root. 🤍 PEA•bot•E 🧠🤓🤖 is Precision EMDR Academy’s resident quick responder.
