This is the start of our Meet the Prept Team series, where you’ll get to know the amazing people behind the magic here ✨ First up… me!

Hi, I’m Suzanne 👋 Brow guru, lash lifter, salon mum and very proud owner of Prept 💕 When I first dreamt up Prept, I pictured a space where everyone is welcome, somewhere that felt more homely than “salon”, and seeing that come to life every day still feels like a pinch me moment.

✨ Brows are my first love, but I can’t resist the wow factor of a good Korean lash lift.
✨ Best part of my job? The chats, the laughs and the friendships 🥰
✨ A fun fact you might not know about me… When I was 16 I signed a modelling contract and worked in Japan for 3 months 🇯🇵 this gave me the opportunity to go on and travel the world ✈️.
✨ I first trained in SFX makeup in my 30s, back when I was craving something new. Brows were meant to be just a side project, but they turned into so much more!
✨ Fave treatment to have? Elim pedicure 🦶✨ comfy chair, people watching and a leg and foot massage! Perfect 👌🏻
✨ Top tip: never pluck your brows 🙅‍♀️ your future self will thank me!

A little about me… I opened Prept at 39, up until then, life hadn’t been exactly how I’d hoped. Taking the leap paid off ten fold, proof that life doesn’t end at 40, sometimes it’s only just beginning ✨

When Prept was just a pipe dream, I imagined it as a welcoming, inclusive space where clients could drop in, have a chat, and feel part of something special. Seeing that vision come to life is a real pinch-me moment 💫 and sharing it with such an amazing team who believe in the same vision makes it even more rewarding, I NEVER dread work, I love my work mates, I love my clients and I love my job!

Outside of Prept? You’ll find me doing Pilates 🧘‍♀️, sipping a chai latte ☕️ or glass of red 🍷, binging a good crime drama 🔎, spending time with my husband 💕, being inspired daily by my incredible daughters 💕… and of course with my cats 🐾 (I do talk about them a lot, fully embracing my crazy cat lady status 🤣).

WE WON!!! ✨🏆✨

Not just Beauty Salon of the Year for North Yorkshire, but OVERALL WINNER at the English Hair & Beauty Awards 2025!!

I honestly don’t even know where to start, this means everything. When Prept began, the goal was never just to be a salon. I wanted to create a space where people felt genuinely at home. A place that was warm, welcoming, inclusive, and full of good energy. Somewhere you could come, not just for amazing treatments, but to feel uplifted, looked after, and amongst friends. And this award feels like proof that we’ve done exactly that.

This has been a team effort in every sense of the word. This year, the Prept team has more than doubled in size, but somehow we’ve become the closest team. Every single person, Maddie, Danielle, Lauren, Katie W, Katie G, Ryan, and Rachel, is not just talented, hardworking, and passionate, but also kind, supportive, and dedicated to making every client feel amazing. I’m so lucky to work alongside them every day.

And to our clients, who are also our friends, you are genuinely the heart of Prept. You’ve supported us, laughed with us, trusted us, and made this salon what it is, you’ve also had our backs during some weird ups and downs this last year 🤣 🤦‍♀️. Thank you so much for all your reviews, recommendations and loyalty… it all means the absolute world. This award is as much yours as it is ours.

I also need to say a huge thank you to Craig, for always being on hand to be the salon dogsbody (even when you definitely didn’t sign up for it!), to my beautiful girls, who are always so proud of me, and to my wonderful sister and friends, who never stop cheering me on, loudly and unapologetically. I’ve never felt more loved in my life than I have just recently.

We’ve poured our hearts into this place, and last night, that feels like it was recognised. Prept is officially the best in North Yorkshire AND the best overall. But it’s always felt like that to me, because of the people in it.

Our Christmas wreath making night is back! 🎀🌿

Join us on 3rd December, 6.30–8.30pm at Brew York for a festive evening of wreath making, food, drinks and a good catch-up.

🌿 Following a demonstration from our wonderfully lovely and incredibly talented @bloomsbycoralie , you’ll create your very own luxury Christmas wreath, choosing from an abundance of gorgeous seasonal foliage including spruce, conifer, pine, eucalyptus and olive, before adding festive accessories and beautiful velvet ribbon for the finishing touches. 🎀

Everything you need is provided; just bring yourself and leave with a gorgeous handmade wreath ready for your front door. ✨

🍻 Drinks can be ordered from the @tapandbeerhall bar, and @yuzu_streetfood can be ordered straight to your table while you wreath.

🎄 This event is for Prept clients, but you’re very welcome to bring friends and family who aren’t clients along with you too.

The Prept glow up is underway 💚✨

Last month I finally paid off my Covid Bounce Back Loan 🥳 yayyy!! So obviously, no better time to give the salon a whole new look! 😂

Hence why my social media presence has been pretty much non-existent recently. I’ve been coming in early and staying late to get painting done before and after opening times.

There’s still a fair bit to do, but the 1980s bathroom has gone!!!! 🙌 And it’s all starting to take shape.

If you’re coming in over the next few weeks, please excuse the occasional bit of chaos in the communal areas….. I promise it’ll be worth it 🥰

A little pre-holiday skin prep with Rosie ✨

Before we went away I treated myself to one of Rosie’s facials, and my skin felt SO lovely afterwards 😍

I had dermaplaning, microneedling on my face and neck, followed by a Cliniccare Pure Sheet Mask.

I’d been dermaplaning at home for a while and although I loved getting rid of the peach fuzz, I never really got that gorgeous fresh glow afterwards. I wanted something that would actually work on my skin too, helping with hydration, product absorption, collagen and keeping my skin looking healthy as I get older, so Rosie added microneedling into my treatment.

And I absolutely loved the results ❤️ My skin felt so smooth, fresh and glowy, and it was the perfect little treatment before our holiday.

For anyone who doesn’t know, alongside doing facials at Prept, Rosie is also training to be a paramedic 🚑❤️ She fits her days with us around working in the ambulance service and her paramedic training, so her availability can be a little limited.

From September she’ll be off the road and back in the classroom as she starts the next part of her paramedic course, so if you’ve been wanting to book in with her, I’d recommend grabbing one of her upcoming dates while you can.

Her next Prept dates are 11th, 12th & 31st August, and 1st & 26th September ✨
