I imagined how this announcement would go...

What my caption would say.

Something flashy like "Surprise Surprise!!!"
Or reflective like "Even though I've been silent I was busy..."

Now that it's happened, it's neither one of those options.

Instead, all I can do is say thank you.

Thank you to @blackboywritesmedia for this opportunity.
Thank you to my fellow 2026 cohort mentees. It's an honor to be in the room with you all.

And last but not least...

To the girl

Who started writing at 9
Diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa at 13
Who had heart attacks at 32 and 34
Diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure at 35

You are now THAT GIRL in Deadline at 39.

Thank you.

You survived... Now thrive. 🙌🏾

Keep going. by @preshusdlee

This is just a snippet of the beautiful views I had this weekend with @ucb_usa and my HS fam at the #UCBHSSummit in Atlanta. From years of not knowing anyone with HS and not understanding what it was to being surrounded by the love of the community is a full circle feeling. These are just a few of the beautiful people and souls I encountered on this journey. Sending love, light, and healing to you all 💜. taken in Atlanta, GA by @preshusdlee

It’s always a celebration when the HS fam links up, and this time was no exception. Day 1 was a movie. #ucbhssummit #day2loading by @preshusdlee

That time we shot a dance film part 1 ... we were slowly crawling out of the heart of lockdown with COVID, carrying the heavy quiet of the world and searching for a way to let it exhale.

Enter "DOOMED".

This piece was born straight from the spirit of Jaylun Moore (@jay_dee31), our featured artist, who poured herself entirely into directing, choreographing, producing, and editing this vision. Being behind the camera felt less like operating gear and more like holding space for something deeply sacred, and aching to be set free.

Scored to the transcendent, bone-chilling brilliance of “Doomed” by Moses Sumney (@mosessumney), every breath became a prayer about survival and surrender.

Proof that if you give us two rented hanboks, a tripod, and a dream, we will immediately cast ourselves in a historical kdrama romance. Serving Joseon Dynasty royalty on the outside, frantically dodging tourists on the inside. Swipe to see our kdrama romance unfold!

Troy: But we'll stand out
Me: We're Black...we already stand out

That time we went to Korea and almost passed on this amazing experience because of fear....so glad we did it.

10 years ago the girl I knew and the woman I was becoming met while studying abroad in Prague & Vienna. It was a trip of a lifetime full of friendship and global adventures that I will never forget. This trip is where I started my journey into my 30's, unaware of the many major plot twists to come. In a few days I will venture my way out of this decade and into the next. I am proud of who I am and proud of who I am becoming, and eager to learn so much more. Cheers to more trips and self discovery! 🫶🏾

Community, grace, friendship. The @Inflamedsistersthriving Summit & Gala weekend was full of love and self-discovery.

The most magical moment? Our keynote speaker @Tonjaljohnson. Her words activated the tears that washed away years of shame and guilt. Hearing her speak was truly a balm to my soul.

Thank you @iam_catina, and the whole team for all that you do. It did my heart good to just be in the room.
