Taking a trip shouldn’t just mean doing your job from somewhere prettier. 🤍

While I was in Wales, @muse was handling payroll, scheduling, follow-ups, outreach and team messaging. After 20 years of building businesses, having room to breathe without a mountain of catch-up waiting for me is a pretty big deal.

This is why we build systems at @prettycreativecompany. I love what I do. I also wanted to enjoy Europe while I was actually there.

Nothing sexier than a man who handles business and the stroller 😍

A little behind-the-scenes appreciation post because there’s a piece of how I’ve been able to keep growing Glowout while simultaneously running around chasing big ideas that most people never see.

For the last two years, @prettycreativeshane has quietly helped me make the backend of Glowout smarter—systems, automations, AI, workflows and all the very unsexy things that make a business actually run better.

I built Glowout over 19 years, but learning how to build businesses that don’t require all of me, all of the time, has been a completely different chapter. Shane has a way of looking at how something is being done, spotting where we’re wasting time or making things harder than they need to be, and building a better way forward.

And Glowout isn’t the only place I’ve watched him do it. He’s helped a number of my clients untangle messy systems, find bottlenecks and use AI and automation in ways that actually make sense for their businesses.

This trip has probably been the best example of what that work has given me. I’ve been gone for two weeks—traveling, teaching, building relationships, exploring new markets and dreaming up what’s next—while Glowout and my other businesses keep moving at home in the US.

That kind of freedom didn’t happen by accident. A lot of it came from finally building better systems behind the scenes.

A little Labor Day ode to the kind of people who were probably never built to sit too still 😂

I love a soft life. Beautiful places. Slow mornings. Long lunches. Room to breathe.

But I also know myself.

I like building things.
Starting things.
Chasing ideas.
Figuring it out as I go.
And somehow always finding another mountain I want to climb.

The goal was never to stop working.

It was to build a life where the work feels worth doing — and the life around it feels worth living.
