![We were so relieved on Saturday when the vet said Penny’s eye was no longer ulcerated 👏🥳
We still have to be cautious while the scar tissue hopefully heals more but she was thrilled to be back out for walkies 🥰 if only her slobber chops didn’t give her away that she was tired 🤭 sorry, Penny, we know you too well!
Something maybe not thought about, unless you’ve had to go through IVDD or similar, is just how much you KNOW your dog and their limits. We’re hawk eyed for the little changes in Penny’s behaviour that lets us know she needs something & her getting slobbery on a walk means she’s ready for a rest. Or that she’s over stimulated with new sniffs 😂 but that also means she needs a rest 🤭
What are the little signs only you’d notice about your dog that are them letting you know they need something?

Can’t wait to be able to get back to the beach, hopefully soon 🤞 the vet was hopeful, last week, that she’d be able to discharge Penny on Saturday. Her eye is looking better and she’s much more comfortable with it now, but I’m not sure the all clear on Saturday might be wishful thinking 🥺 swipe 👉 to see what it’s looking like today - if you have experience with eye ulcers, do you think it still will be a while before it’s healed? She’s never had one as bad as this, before 🥺

At her last checkup, the vet was pleased with how her eye is healing & we’ve seen a big improvement in the last few days especially 🙏 *touch wood* She’s opening it properly almost all the time now. It still looks a little scary but the blood vessels are doing their thing so 🤞 the vet is right and she’ll be ready to be signed off by them on Saturday’s checkup 🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞
