Every city has brought its own energy, and San Francisco didn’t hold back.🫶🏾

We had the best time at our ✨Best of the Best✨Bollywood dance class, led by @amitdances. And then @amrynkhurana, who plays Sumi in the film, surprised everyone by joining in and dancing right alongside the class.🥹

Watching friends and OG dancers from the BOB era come together through dance has been one of the sweetest parts of this journey. San Francisco, thank you for showing up with so much heart.♥️

Before ✨Best of the Best✨ made its way to Netflix, Palak Sheth, aka @palakpalooza, and her team were building the very South Asian dance competition that elevated the circuit. They created a space where our music, movement, and stories were celebrated by our own community long before they reached the screen.

Having Palak teach the ✨Best of the Best✨ Bollywood dance class in Chicago brought it all full circle, bringing the energy and spirit of the original competition back to the dance floor.💛✨🤍Much love and a BIG thanks to everyone who joined us to dance, cheer, and reminisce the music and community that raised us!🫶🏽💚

No better way to celebrate BEST OF THE BEST weekend than our New York City 🗽class than with a spontaneous flash mob in Times Square, right in front of the ‘Best of the Best’ billboard.✨

From collegiate dance teams to the big screen, the six-city dance class experience was deeply personal from the @browngirlmag x @bolly_hero x @pri.planned.it crew.🥹Thank you for having us on board for the ride of a lifetime.

If you haven’t watched the film yet we can promise you it’s proven to be an unforgettable celebration of the movement, music and community that shaped so many of us.💃

Much love to the cast, crew and choreographers @joyakazi x @phillipchbeeb x @makenzie_dustman for going above and beyond to create dance magic.💛

👋🏾 We have dance class details for Chicago and San Francisco, y’all.

In case you missed it — we’re partnering with @netflix x @pri.planned.it and local dance schools and instructors to bring ✨Best of the Best✨ to six cities across the country—a film rooted in the South Asian collegiate competitive dance circuit.

Long before our stories reached screens like this, thousands of collegiate dance teams were building something of their own.💃💃Practices that ran late into the night, packed competitions, homemade costumes, endless rehearsals and teams that became family.

The dance circuit gave us grounding. It gave us a place to belong, lead, create and express our culture and music on our own terms. It shaped friendships, careers, confidence—and a community that continues long after graduation.💯

We’re honored to pay homage to that legacy alongside Netflix, beginning with six FREE Bollywood dance classes hosted by local dance school and instructors, who’ve kept the magic 🪄 of Bollywood alive.

✨ ATLANTA — Friday, September 11th
✨ HOUSTON — Saturday, September 12th
✨ NEW YORK CITY — Sunday, September 13th
✨ CHICAGO — Friday, September 18th
✨ SAN FRANCISCO — Saturday, September 19th

This one’s for every desi kid balancing their passion and ‘studies’ and for everyone who ever found a piece of themselves—and their people—on that stage.🎬💃🏽 by @pri.planned.it

Started on the BOB dance floor… and now I’m here 💃

I started dancing at 6 years old, and in 2005, I joined the Michigan State Bhangra team, one of the few Gujjus on the team!

Those 4 years of college were filled with late night practices, road trips, competitions, friendships, teamwork, and memories that shaped me.

In 2008, we had the opportunity to compete at THE @bestofthebestdancecomp headed by @palakpalooza @jillendra and @chatmina481 and I remember thinking, how freaking cool is this?! I never imagined that almost 20 years later, I’d be on the other side of that experience.

Fast forward to 2026, and I’m incredibly proud that my company @pri.planned.it is partnering with @netflix to produce Netflix Presents: Best of the Best Bollywood Dance Class event series, kicking off TODAY in Atlanta and traveling to cities across the U.S., including my hometown of Chicago 🙌🏾

I also attended the NYC premiere of Best of the Best movie on the big screen this week. Seeing it brought back so much nostalgia of being part of a South Asian collegiate dance team and made this full circle moment even more meaningful.

From dancing in BOB to producing an event series for the BOB movie 🫶🏽 (swipe to see a video from our BOB performance)

Congrats to @hasanminhaj , @prashanthvenkat and the whole @netflixfilm team on this movie!

And thank you to @palakpalooza for mentioning my name when this opportunity came up, @bolly_hero for trusting me with your vision, and my parents for always pushing me to reach for the stars.

Swipe to see where the events are headed next. Register through the link in my bio.

RUN, DON’T WALK to watch Best of the Best on Netflix September 18!
