Percy and Wonky went to Open Studios with their chums and some framed collagraph collages. With thanks to @mbrmaggie I had a great year in her home with the collages and Mr Jay flew the coop but the other boys came back like good homing pigeons do. Arthur is in the sewing hospital because he needs some running repairs but these two want to escape I think. They are enlisting the raven for a cunning plan!

Apparently it is National Dog Day so I’m going for a Team Jessie update as we all get to the end of nine weeks together.
There are times when she is a dream. She eats really well but is not gaining weight so she’s off for a weigh in at the vets tomorrow along with a skin and teeth check up. Fresh breath and a non flaky coat are still a work in progress and I’d be lying if I said her attachment to me was all OK. There are occasions when I wonder if she’ll ever get the concept of ‘stay’ but we don’t know what has formed her past. Why was she a stray? Who let her get into such appalling condition? Something we’ll never know.
I cannot do anything without her at my side unless I leave the house. Then she stares out of the window waiting for my return. Anyone with any tips to help her please say! And just when I thought we’d got toilet training sorted we just had an accident. Such is life .
We will get there between us all I hope. There’s a lot to love. She sleeps all night and loves an adventure in the car with a walk and some treats at the end of the journey. She never barks or cries and those soulful eyes follow us everywhere. We’ve come a long way in nine weeks. Fingers crossed it keeps getting even better for Jessie. She deserves it. by @printedmaterial72

My faithful assistant has done the draw this morning for my Be Kind prints and Stay Curious book offerings for this round of @oneofmanycharity amidst grumblings that I’d made it complicated etc etc .
I hope not! The following names came out of the hat and if you only wanted a sketchbook or a print that’s what you have. If you said either/or I chose the book option first and then the print depending on availability. Sound convoluted? Welcome to my world…..
If you are happy to receive and donate for what’s been selected please DM with your address and I will post next week. Thanks to everyone who asked me for the sketchbooks this time. I’m sorry there were not more but it’s an idea I shall return to and I hope to see future images of them being used!

North Pembrokeshire Open Studios begins on Saturday and runs from the 22nd until September 6th. Always worth a tour of this beautiful county we call home. I am delighted to be showing some pieces in the home of my dear friend @mbrmaggie alongside other friends @pete.monaghanartist , @juliewoolnough.jw and @ro.croxford.art .
Alongside my collagraph plate collages there will be my motley crew of pigeons and owls. Time they flew the nest I thought!
Anyone in this vicinity in the next two weeks will get a warm welcome , lots of friendly chat, maybe some demonstrations, definitely tea, coffee and biscuits and no pressure from anyone other than to enjoy the visit. Looking forward to it! by @printedmaterial72

I really am focussed on kindness and friendship at present. It feels like we are lacking the first so, I am ever more grateful for the second.
My Dad used to say that the best gift you could give someone was your time because it is precious. I think these two things prove that.
My wonderful chum @mbrmaggie gave me the jug a few weeks ago, handmade on a raku course and replicating in clay one of the paper jugs I made so many of last year. We sold lots at her Open Studios in late summer and raised £200 for Alzheimer’s so getting one back as a surprise gift was a real joy.
I’ve reciprocated today with Basil the bullfinch who has occupied my hands and mind for days. Stitched and stuffed and embroidered with no plan but he turned out OK. He will be happy in his new home.
Reminders that gifts made by our hands for no other reason than because we can- and we want to- are the best sort. ❤️ by @printedmaterial72

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who has sent me a message or commented about the Stay Curious sketchbooks for @oneofmanycharity I suppose the simplest ideas are often the best?
Anyway, because I have more Be Kind cards than sketchbooks I’ve just made a few more in some grey card I had to even up the offering. It increases the odds unless there are more people out there who want to go into the draw for one. I’ll be doing that on Saturday 22 August so leave me a comment if you want to join in. Do look at my last post for details.

Well as usual, one idea leaps to another and now I have all my offerings for @oneofmanycharity on my table ready to go.
I had to wrestle the letters from old plates to enable me to print the Be Kind postcard. There are never enough E’s for me but all the other vowels are abundant so I started making random words and fell into another idea.
Friends will say I am always going on about staying curious. I think it’s a vital thing to be…. and it has all the vowels needed to print ‘Stay Curious’ so I have also made 6, 5.5 inch x 9 inch sketchbooks/ notebooks . The paper is 150grms cartridge. In truth, I have merely cut two Seawhite A3 Eco sketchbooks into three landscape books, trimmed and chopped and embossed a black card cover before chain stitching the binding but they feel great in the hand and I can see me making more. Imagine the phrases I could manifest……Imagine the covers in yellow or magenta……
No, let’s stop there and just say if you want any or either of the above please leave a comment or send a DM saying, kind, book or both. I’ll start adding to the list I’ve started and will announce names in a couple of weeks giving notice beforehand.
We all know the deal but to refresh - a donation is made for anything I send to a value that you put on it or what you can afford. I don’t need to know how much but I love to know where.
I’ll be honest and say postal charges for the books might be a factor this time around. I usually just send wherever in the world and let fate and the random number generator decide. I’ll stick with that technique but throw in the caveat that it might change. But for now, if you want keep being kind or forever stay curious and record how please let me know and let’s do 1/many again my friends ❤️. ⭐⭐️Addendum: Can I just say that as I have more cards than books, should you want both and I have no books left I will still carry on the draw with the card part of the request.
