On the Printing Charity’s social media pages, you’ll find us sharing information about the services we offer, and tips and support for wellbeing to help everyone who works, or has worked, in the print industry. We don’t run competitions to win large amounts of money or any other high value items, and we would never ask you for money, whether that’s to access our services, or for any other reason.

If you’re in any doubt about whether a message is from us – whether it’s social media, phone or e-mail – please take a moment and contact our team to check – support@theprintingcharity.org.uk or 01293 542 820. We’re here for you. by @printingcharity

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on 17th October is an opportunity to recognise the impact financial hardship can have and make sure people know where support is available.

For eligible people who work or have worked in print, paper, packaging, graphics and publishing, our support includes one-off grants towards essential costs.

“I already feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It gives me the chance to focus on my health, my family, and getting back to where I want to be.” Di, Beneficiary.

Di’s experience shows how a one-off grant can ease the weight of financial hardship and give people space to move forward.

Our Financial Wellbeing booklet also brings together practical guidance to help people understand their options and find trusted help.

Inside you’ll find guidance on:

💷 Creating and managing a budget
✅ Checking benefits and other support
💡 Making the most of your income
🤝 Finding free, professional help with debt

We're revealing the true picture of people in print.

Over the past two decades, how we help people in print has changed with the industry, from careers and development for those starting out, to a free, confidential helpline for everyone in our sector, and support for businesses looking after their teams. As we approach our 200th anniversary next year, we wanted to know what people need from us now.

To find out, we ran our True Picture research and heard from 1,300 people across print, paper, packaging, graphics and publishing about their working lives, their wellbeing, their finances and their careers.

We also heard from 1,000 people in other industries, so we can see where life in print is different, and where the pressures are shared.

What they told us will inform how we shape our future financial, practical and emotional support. It's also there to help businesses build their own workplace wellbeing programmes, through our Wellbeing Community.

Over the coming weeks, we'll share more from each part of the research.

“So the best way to understand and the best way to empathise with individuals who have had experiences of mental ill health is to hear that or understand that or engage with people about their own experiences.”

Stephen Parkinson from Optima Health shared this during one of our expert-led Wellbeing Community webinars. His point reflects this year’s World Mental Health Day theme, “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”.

Listening helps us understand what people need and provide relevant support. We’ll share what our research told us and discuss the guidance and resources we offer to support mental wellbeing at work.

Our free World Mental Health Day webinar is on Tuesday 13th October. We'll share what our research told us about wellbeing across our sectors, and practical ways we can help.

This year's theme is "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change". Hearing people matters, but it's only the start. Stephen Parkinson from Optima Health made this point in one of our expert-led Wellbeing Community webinars:

"Decisions that affect people's lives. So meaningful engagement extends a little bit further than just about hearing someone. It's more around, what do we do with that information once we've heard it? And how can we engage with individuals to make a meaningful difference?"

That's what our Wellbeing Community is for: helping businesses act on what their people tell them, with expert-led webinars and practical resources. Join us to hear what we learned and what you can do with it. Everyone working across print, paper, packaging, graphics and publishing is welcome.

What can workplaces learn from people’s real experiences of mental wellbeing?

That’s what we’ll be exploring in our free World Mental Health Day webinar on Tuesday 13th October, looking at what our research told us and practical ways we can better support mental wellbeing at work.

In her film, Natalie Evans shares how reaching out to The Printing Charity helped her find a way forward. Her experience reflects this year’s World Mental Health Day theme, “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”, and shows why support needs to be visible before someone reaches a crisis.

“You don’t necessarily have to be going through the hardest time.”

There are only so many opportunities each year to get people from across our sectors together in one room.

Our Annual Luncheon is one of them.

On Thursday 19th November 2026, people from across print, paper, packaging, graphics and publishing will come together at Plaisterers’ Hall for an afternoon of conversation, catching up and making new connections.

This year, we’ll also be joined by Baroness Floella Benjamin, our 2026 Honorary President and a familiar face to many from her years on television, as keynote speaker.

With autumn plans taking shape and the end of the year not far behind, now’s a good time to get the date in the diary.

We’d love to see you there.
