the number one question i get is “how are you feeding the twins?” five months later after lots of sweat, tears, head scratching, and trial and error we finally have it all figured out! so i’m happily sharing our feeding “schedule” on priscillatbrown.com today! if having a strict feeding schedule brings you joy then by all means make that happen. but if not, then take a step back and listen to the babies’ cues. if tandem nursing is challenging, then nurse one baby and you or someone else give a bottle to the other. and by all means, if you need to give a bottle of formula, that's okay too! at the end of the day, if you are doing what feels right in your gut, then you are doing all the right things. you’ve got this! xx taken in Charleston, South Carolina by @priscillatbrown

next week the twins will be one. which means i nursed two babies for an entire year. twelve months of tandem nursing. twelve months of being a literal food source for two very hungry, growing babies. what started out as a confusing, uncomfortable, and at times inconvenient “chore” that required props, pillows, and an extra set of hands, soon became the part of the day i looked forward to the most. that quiet time in the back bedroom, just the three of us. the two of them crawling across the bed to get into my lap, searching for their spot in the dark, and with one last sigh quickly settling in. the smell of the top of their heads. the way olive pokes ziggy’s cheek with her little index finger while she nurses and how he in return softly pats her head. constantly aware that the other one is nearby, but always willing to share my lap, my milk, and my attention. i know our time like this is fading quickly. they are no longer babies and are becoming toddlers instead. they won’t nurse forever and this special moment, just the three of us, will come to an end. breastfeeding comes with challenges for so many. but for all the ways my body has failed me over the years, i am forever grateful that it got this one right. 🤍

Halloween costume idea. since the 80s and 90s are now considered “historical” let’s run it back to our favorite pop idol from the 1900s, Madonna. 👰🏼 entire outfit and accessories were under $50. you know the drill, message me or comment if you want the details! by @priscillatbrown

our annual tradition to turn off our WiFi access, escape the coast, and head to the mountains for an autumn getaway with friends. this year brought hurricane rains and a flood watch but luckily we woke up the next day to a shining sun just in time to go apple picking. here’s a little taste of our easy peasey Asheville mountain weekend itinerary:

🍎apple picking at @jetermountainfarm (our favorite). this year we also went to @justusorchard which is smaller but still fun for the kids. @skytoporchard is also a favorite if you’re closer to the Hendersonville/Saluda area.

☕️ lunch, hot chocolate, and fireplace sitting at @omnigrovepark. the kids also love taking the elevator down to the spa. we of course don’t go into the spa but we walk through the “caves” which is literally just the hallway to get to the spa. my children all find it oddly fascinating.

🍁 leaf peeping in Pisgah along the Blue Ridge Parkway. we actually arrived a week or so before peak season but still so beautiful. after doing this for many years, I can confidently say, the closer to Halloween the better the leaves will be.

we went from owning a larger home to renting a smaller home despite all the whispers in our ears that this was moving in the wrong direction. but life is short and you only get one of them, so just take the leap, be bold, make a big change, and perhaps your mental health will thank you for it. i also think it’s important to raise kids with less stuff and more love. and kids with shared bedrooms and shared spaces ultimately will become better college roommates some day (this comes from learned experiences!) and don’t worry to my James Island friends, i am still a JI girl through and through and will be back someday! but for now, thanks for cheering us on in this adventure. i’ve already learned so much about “tiny living” can’t wait to share more! 🏡✨ taken in Charleston, South Carolina by @priscillatbrown

i must look like a yeti to you but what do you mean, you don’t do a meringue face mask? 😉🍰 i had the best time last night at the kickoff of Mrs. Doubtfire the Broadway musical, the first Broadway show in the lineup for the Best of Broadway season at @nchascoliseum. this show was unbelievably funny and the music had me dancing in my seat and then somehow we found ourselves crying towards the end. who needs therapy when you have good friends and Broadway in your backyard! head to ticketmaster to get tickets for Mrs Doubtfire (the show runs through the weekend) and all the other great Broadway shows coming to Charleston! #bestofbroadway #thingstodoincharleston by @priscillatbrown

i moved into this 3 bedroom house in ‘08 as a rental with my roommates and never intended to stay here long. i decided to buy it in 2010 and then one thing led to another and boyfriends became husbands and roommates came and left and then four children entered the group chat until finally it is somehow 2026 and time to say goodbye to this wonderful little house that raised us. i am so excited about our next adventure and i can’t wait to share where we ended up (and spoiler alert, you’ll never guess it but we actually downsized!). goodbye Boyce Court, i will forever cherish you. until then, i’m off to unpack and take a ten hour nap. ✨📦📦📦📦 by @priscillatbrown
