A quick, simple collage on a Sunday afternoon.

Had a surgical procedure few days ago, so I have been stuck at home, trying to rest and not feel frustrated. I am ok though; just slightly drugged with pain meds. Feeling well enough today to do some art. I wasn’t really thinking much but somehow my favourite brolly & circles are back. ☂️🔵 Maybe I am hoping for some rain🌧️

A little quick collage spread inspired by this quote I came across few days ago.

Spent a few weeks in the UK & popped over to Finland too. Went to many bookshops and had daily walks to look at lovely late spring blooms.

Back in my humid and sunny home. ☀️ Hope weather has been good where you are and have a lovely weekend ahead, my friends.

Some days the world just feels… really loud. It’s hard not to get a little overwhelmed by it all.

Trying to remind myself I don’t have to chase every thought or react to every feeling.

And today, it felt good to slow down, sit with myself, and make this little quick spread in my small journal. 🌸

Some of you guys know I love books / reading and have a separate acct @prisbookshelf Have recently been adding quite a few new books to my ‘to be read’ stack. Also have been slightly obsessed with making bookmarks/ tags to go with my new books. I pick a new bookmark every time I start a new book 😅.

Anyway, today I made new ones from some under papers and leftover scraps.

Nothing fancy but definitely alot of fun.

Any good books to recommend? 😉

Wow, it’s already March! I had been away for surgeries (am ok, no worries) & recovery in Jan, celebrating Chinese new year and birthday in Feb. Just got home from a little adventure at sea! 🌊

Spent some time on a wonderful cruise (first time cruiser) with family to Malaysia & Thailand. I really enjoyed the slow mornings, clear blue sky, endless horizons, and all the fun time I had with the fam (mostly trying all the different food onboard). And lots of sunshine ☀️!

This simple spread was inspired by all the joyful memories! 🛳️

Good to be back at my art table! 🥰

The word I have chosen for myself for the new year is - PRESENT.

Reminding myself that ….To be PRESENT is not to have everything figured out. It is to stand where my feet are, and trust that this is enough.

Reminding myself to release the habit of living ahead of myself…of rehearsing futures I cannot control or replaying moments that no longer need me.

I also like the word, “Present" as a Gift. 🎁 Reminding & reclaiming the idea that the current moment is a gift.

This little collage piece is created with the word in mind.

Here’s wishing all of you a wonderful 2026 ahead! 🥰 Thank you for inspiring me with your art and sticking around, sending me encouraging comments and messages this whole year (even when I was quite distracted, have not been feeling too well, and not been around here as much).

I have been away from my art table, dealing with some health issues and some traveling with the family. This week, just had two surgical biopsies which I am praying for good results. I just got a bit too distracted and tired; and not in a great mind space to create anything for weeks.

This little spread in my favourite mini altered book is inspired by today’s #nosewnovember2025 prompt (negative space) hosted by @megjournals . I didn’t make a new journal, but I hope to when I can and work on other prompts.

In art composition, negative space is often used as “breathing room,” to communicate emotion and balance. I find it so apt for me at the moment.

Maybe it’s the season now when one reflects on the past year, or due to the happenings in my life lately, somehow ‘clocks & time’ showed up in this spread. ⏱️😅

Anyway, I am glad I managed to sit quietly (and not in physical pain) to complete this page today. I remind myself that despite difficult days, there are many things to be thankful for. I continue to pray and thank God for healing and recovery. Hope everyone has a lovely thanksgiving week! 🥰

Have not been journaling but I hv been working on my large canvas painting, attending art workshops & … well, going for walks.

Anyway, over the weekend, I thought I would try asking ChatGPT for some journaling prompts and it actually gave me a good list!

Here’s the prompt I chose from the list of 30. “Inner Garden – Paint/ Create a garden representing your mind today🌸”

I started with just drawing some leaves in gold, on black papers. That circle might have been too big on my little altered journal page but somehow it also feels … right to me.

Picked out 2 more prompts (swipe to last photo) that I might work on next. Feel free to use them if it sounds fun to you too. 😂

Week 3 of #seekgathercreateaug2025.

Using a pic of myself (for the prompt - still), taken at a lovely spot I go for walks whenever I am back in the UK countryside in Surrey area. See my original pic in last photo. I like sitting quietly on the bench, watching the clouds (and cows, sometimes) and just be.

Used some mosaic patterned / tile-like papers and lots of circles & an old map.

The prompts are fun but somehow I was not quite in the ‘flow’. Gathered the items and then tried a few ‘compositions’ but they didn’t quite feel right (swipe to see the few attempts) and ended with this little spread. Still enjoy the process though. 😍

For some reason, when I saw the prompts, ‘remember’ and ‘window’ , I just think of the beautiful garden at my mother in law’s house in the UK countryside (see last two photos). So, I gave this spread some 🌸🌺🌷🪻

I found a lovely image and a vintage looking window; decided to put them together. So there you go, here’s my take on week 1’s challenge!

Midweek fun with tiny abstracts.

These small cardboard pieces came from the leftover covers of the mini journals I shared in my previous post. I pressed the boards onto a larger sheet of collage paper I was playing with, while the paint was still wet. It is a little messy but fun little experiment.
