Selected Artists - 5th Annual Exhibition We are pleased to announce the 33 artists selected for the fifth annual exhibition of Prisma Art Prize. From 5 to 8 November 2026, their works will come together at Palazzo Merulana in Rome, marking the culmination of the fifth year of the Prize. “DORSAL MESOATLÂNTICA (Mid-Atlantic Ridge)” by Luiz Escanuela (2025)
Oil, acrylic paste and cold porcelain on canvas, 160 × 105 × 5 cm A thick, sculpted surface pushes beyond the rectangle of the stretcher, turning the painting into an uneven relief. Flesh and earth tones pool, fold, and compress into a dense mass, where the image reads as both body and terrain—creases, bulges, and cavities held in constant tension. Incised lines cut through the surface like fractures or routes, making the work feel mapped as much as painted. As the artist writes, the title refers to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge—an underwater mountain range formed by the separation of tectonic plates, where new crust emerges through friction and fracture. In the painting, those geological dynamics become a pictorial topography: anatomy stretched to the point of losing contour, the body no longer representation but a landscape in motion. “Broken Blocks (Ulassai)” by Cosimo Casoni (2025)
Oil, acrylic, spray paint, skateboard marks, marker, pencil on raw canvas, 200 × 230 cm courtesy @valeriusgallery A large, layered surface where an architectural image (a building block/house-like structure) sits inside a bright, open field. The painting combines photographic-looking fragments with loose drawing, sprayed marks, and bold colour accents—pink, orange, and blue—so the scene reads as both constructed and constantly revised. As the artist writes, the works begin from fleeting encounters with ordinary environments, often first recorded through photography during travel, then distilled through painting. The process is built through layers—overlaps, erasures, cancellations—where action and reflection alternate.
