Discipline + Consistency. Just two of a few lessons I had to grasp sooner than later. Also 100+ more friends to learn from.
Thank you for being on this journey with me and helping me grow

Photography + Textile Design + Lino-Block Printing = Maximizing my creative potential and freedom. This was the first wearable artwork piece I made and I’m constructing different designs through spring.

Special thanks to @rebeccahanobik for modeling this special piece 🫶🏾

This is my story of how I introduced acrylic painting into my mixed media practice. Although I was in the face of adversity, I used that experience to create something new and develop my creative thinking. Get to know more about me with each slide. Please feel free to comment your story or feedback.

It was only a year ago today, I would revisit my most vulnerable and traumatic experiences to paint my first self portrait. Regardless of the intimidation or fear of failure to create a “good painting “, it was a portrayal of self, that needed to be seen, heard and forgiven. I allowed the child in me to tell his story.

This is my first acrylic painting that would change my perception of painting; exploring my abstract expressionism and my post-impressionist outlook of experiences in my life.
One of my favorite artists is Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose life and work largely influenced my interest in practicing this medium.
