Elon Musk’s Close Protection — Exit & Embus This footage shows Elon Musk exiting court with his Close Protection Team, offering a strong example of close protection in a high-exposure, media-heavy environment. At least four Close Protection Operatives (CPOs) are visible throughout the video, with additional team members likely operating out of frame, managing vehicle positioning, rear security, counter-surveillance, and route control. The movement follows a structured and disciplined security protocol. One CPO exits first as the advance/point operative, confirming vehicle readiness and securing the embus point. The primary-vehicle is staged and ready on arrival, demonstrating effective pre-positioning and coordination. The team forms a layered protective formation, maintaining optimal spacing, close enough to protect, without being intrusive. Their scanning patterns, posture, and positioning demonstrate strong situational awareness, training and SOPs.  Importantly, the principal is guided through positioning and movement cues rather than physical contact, allowing safe engagement with the press while maintaining a controlled security environment. Once the principal is seated, the team maintains coverage until the primary-vehicle departs. A follow-vehicle (black Tesla) then moves off to join the convoy with the primary-vehicle.  Two remaining CPOs hold position until the primary vehicle clears, then cross the road to board their vehicle and rejoin the convoy, a standard and effective close protection practice coordinated through secure communications and GPS tracking. Some points worth noting are driver positioning during embus and convoy spacing on departure.  Some security protocols dictate that the driver remains seated in the vehicle, engine running, ready to depart the moment the principal is secure. Others prefer the driver to remain outside the vehicle during embus, maintaining situational awareness and additional close protection coverage, as seen in this footage. Similarly, follow-vehicle spacing can vary depending on threat level, traffic conditions, and operational environment, with some teams prioritising tighter convoy spacing. by @privat.security

Floyd Mayweather’s Monaco Incident: A Case Study in Close Protection Failures Footage from June 2025 shows Floyd Mayweather and his Close Protection Team in Monte‑Carlo engaging a confrontational member of the public. No harm occurred, but the sequence is a textbook example of how abandoning fundamentals can turn a nuisance into unnecessary risk. A member of the public can be seen heckling Floyd Mayweather. His Close Protection Team then turns around and responds verbally, escalating the situation by swearing and arguing back. Floyd turns around and walks back towards the heckler, while his CP team approaches the man, forming a line with no one watching their principal or protecting his rear. One team member even charges at the man and is stopped by an officer. The team is so focused on arguing and posturing that the Principal begins to walk off unnoticed, creating a huge opportunity for hostile action and a major lapse in security. Key Observations from the Footage - Unnecessary engagement: Turning back to argue shifted attention from the principal and escalated a minor provocation. - Prompting the principal to re‑engage: The team’s posture influenced Mayweather to turn back, increasing exposure time. - Compromised readiness: One operative carried a coffee while on the move—hands should remain free for response and shielding. - Loss of situational awareness: Team members moved in front to argue, losing eyes‑on and 360° coverage. - Escalation by closing distance: A CPO stepped toward the provocateur, raising stakes without benefit. - Principal left unattended: The principal walked off alone before the team noticed and scrambled to catch up. Why This Matters Close protection is about reducing exposure and controlling movement, not posturing or “winning” disputes. #closeprotection #executiveprotection #privat #riskmanagement #security #monaco #mayweather #Bodyguard #fail by @privat.security

Close Protection: A Legit Tax-Deductible Expense Did you know that close protection can be treated as a tax-deductible business expense if it’s structured correctly and linked to genuine business risks? At Privat Security, we don’t just provide protection, we help ensure it’s documented the right way. We start with a professional risk assessment, identifying threats tied to your business role. We show why standard security measures aren’t enough and why close protection is necessary. We confirm the service is used wholly or mainly for business purposes. We ensure it’s contracted and paid for by the company, not personally. According to HMRC guidance (BIM47305): The threat must arise because of your trade or business. The service must improve personal physical security. The cost must be justified as business-related, not personal. Close protection can therefore be tax-deductible when the risk is business-related and professionally assessed. If you’d like help structuring your security in a compliant way, our team will ensure your protection plan and documentation reflect the business threat relation. If all you have is CCTV, you don’t have security - you have a highlight reel for criminals… In London’s most exclusive postcodes like Mayfair, Kensington, Belgravia, homes aren’t hit by chance. They’re targeted by professionals. These aren’t opportunists. They’re calculated. They often don’t care about CCTV cameras or alarm systems. They most likely know your routines, your house staff’s habits, and exactly how long it takes for someone to respond. If your property sits vacant for weeks or even months at a time, and your only line of defence is an alarm system and a motion-activated camera — you’re not protected. You’re exposed. Your residence. Your assets. Your reputation. All vulnerable. Many high-profile individuals now avoid reporting break-ins altogether, not because it’s a minor break-in, but because the added publicity, unwanted media attention and impact on your brand image is at times considerably worse than the valuables lost. At Privat Security, we don’t just offer residential security, we design proactive, intelligent, bespoke security solutions for high-net-worth individuals globally. Book your FREE 30-minute, No Obligation, Residential Security Consultation today. We’ll conduct a full threat assessment and deliver a tailored residential security plan that protects what matters most — your property, your people, your privacy, and your peace of mind. What’s Your Biggest Security Challenge / Headache as an EA or PA When Your Executive Is Travelling? From coordinating last-minute travel plans to a new location or trying to vet local chauffeur and security companies or ensuring sufficient residential security for your high-profile executives, it can feel like managing their safety and privacy is at times an impossible puzzle. As an EA or PA, you’re expected to think ten steps ahead, often with little notice and no room for error. Imagine this: Your executive has an unplanned trip to a high-risk location you haven’t been to before. How do you ensure high end, reliable transportation, a vetted security chauffeur, a locally experienced, qualified security company and a luxurious yet discreet accommodation —without skipping a beat, and at a moments notice? Here are a few challenges and headaches that might resonate with you: • Balancing tight, ever changing schedules with the demands of seamlessly maintaining the security and privacy needs of your executive. • Security providers often lack the discretion or flexibility needed to align with UHNW lifestyles leaving you to manage every detail, which only adds to your workload. • Piecing together multiple vendors for travel, personal security, residential security, and event security which creates unnecessary complexity and a lot of extra work coordinating between so many different companies. At Privat Security, we understand the unique pressures you face. Our all-encompassing security and conceirge solutions, from Close Protection Operatives (CPOs) Security Chauffeurs, Residential Security to Luxury Concierge Services, are designed to avoid multiple vendors, simplify your workload all while ensuring every aspect of your executive’s safety and privacy are covered. Understanding the Roles of SAP & PES Teams in Close Protection 🔐 In the world of Close Protection, two key teams play vital roles in ensuring the safety and security of high-profile clients: the SAP (Special Advance Party) and the PES (Protective Escort Section). 1. SAP Team: Proactive Protection The SAP team works *before* the principal even arrives at a location. Their mission? To secure and prepare every venue, assess risks, and ensure smooth transitions between locations. ✅ Key Tasks: - Advance reconnaissance of venues - Risk and threat assessments - Route planning and SDRs (Surveillance Detection Routes) - Technical security checks, including TSCM sweeps - Coordinating with local authorities By handling these critical aspects, the SAP team ensures the principal’s environment is secure before they arrive. 2. PES Team: Real-Time Protection Once the principal is on the move, the PES team steps in. They provide close physical protection, ensuring the principal is safe from immediate threats during transit and public appearances. ✅ Key Tasks: - Close proximity protection - Escorting the principal through secure routes - Vehicle convoy and motorcade security - Crowd control and emergency response Together, these teams form a seamless proactive and reactive security operation. The SAP team anticipates and mitigates risks, while the PES team ensures real-time protection. In close protection, it’s not just about reacting—it’s about preparing, securing, and staying ahead of potential threats. What are your thoughts on and experience with SAP and PES teams?
