Where most diggers would tap out, @privatepressed digs in. An intensely cerebral selector, Kathryn strives beyond unearthing rare tunes, instead reaching into untapped pockets of curveball proggy jazz, slow funk and psychy ballads.

She’s a total risk taker, working your mind as she explores the very edges of dance music. Her sound is completely unique to her, expressed with a subdued confidence that’s equally her own.

Nicknamed for her early reputation for spinning strictly private pressings, lore of Kathryn’s collection spread long before she ever got behind turntables. She keeps her library trim, managing quality over quantity like a specialty dealer by going after exactly what she wants.

As a collector, she never had the home set-up or technical chops of a DJ, but because of her taste and knowledge, people were willing to give her a shot. The rest, as they say, is history!
