Where most diggers would tap out, @privatepressed digs in. An intensely cerebral selector, Kathryn strives beyond unearthing rare tunes, instead reaching into untapped pockets of curveball proggy jazz, slow funk and psychy ballads. She’s a total risk taker, working your mind as she explores the very edges of dance music. Her sound is completely unique to her, expressed with a subdued confidence that’s equally her own. Nicknamed for her early reputation for spinning strictly private pressings, lore of Kathryn’s collection spread long before she ever got behind turntables. She keeps her library trim, managing quality over quantity like a specialty dealer by going after exactly what she wants. Back again this month with another edition of INSIDE OUT at @915dupont - this time around I’m bringing in a very unique and deep selector who has her finger on the pulse of records that many of us are just catching up to. @privatepressed has played many rooms near and far, from late night loft parties in Brooklyn and venues in Chicago, Montreal and of course Toronto, where we get a rare chance to hear more of the dancefloor selections she has in her arsenal. Get ready to absorb the sounds and lose yourself in the music on Saturday March 28th, first record at 9 PM.

Community + Passion + Love. I always have a big respect for all of the entrepreneurs, local business owners, creators, artisans and artists who continue to build their dreams through passion and dedication. In addition to an in-store installation, the collaborative art print titled “Reunion” was created, reminiscent of the original work that was displayed in 12 Ossington during its time when it was Rally Ossington Gallery.   EKS.REI shared space with us for the weekend setting the tone for his art, while we hosted an intimate event to showcase the collaboration with our communities. We appreciate everyone who came to the launch party and for visiting throughout the past weekend to see the original art work and custom display. Special thanks to @privatepressed for the tunes, @florussoundroom for the DJ equipment, @momentflora_ for the beautiful floral arrangements, @cervezamodelomx for the drinks and, of course, to @eks.rei for coming into town and celebrating with us!
