My day as a full time producer and wanna be writer 🌸

A lot of you have asked how I balance my time, creative brain and life in general as I work across producing and writing so here is what I got up to today to show you how I try to spilt my time 🥰

Please know that not every day looks like this some times one thing will take priority over the other and that’s totally okay too!

So I write immediately after I get up. I always start with journaling and some prayers and then dive right into my current writing project - today was some planning for my new WIP! 🙈

Then I check my to do list and set myself some goals for the day… ➡️

After that I take my gorgeous gremlin for a walk (full disclosure this was not taken today as today we got absolutely SOAKED) 😭😅

Then when I get back I have breakfast and a tea and blast through my inbox’s trying to reply to everything I can to get as clear an inbox as possible. I generally do emails at the start and end of the day only so I can actually focus on my tasks rather than an endless chain of messages… ➡️

After my emails I headed to the gym - today was leg day and I am feeling it! The gym is really important to me as it helps to keep my mobility up after my knee injury and it helps my brain shut off and is actually a great place to come up with ideas for me!

When I got back I printed off my book so I can make a new set of paper notes and compile my BETA feedback (I’ve asked them to highlight things in various colours) into this printed version so I can see them all in one place for my revisions… ➡️

Then I had a very exciting meeting about one of our upcoming productions next year that I am SO EXCITED to be able to tell you about (soon I promise)!

And I ended the day working on a funding bid before hopping on a phone call at 4 ☎️

I really try to vary what I do throughout the day to keep my brain engaged as well as give myself chances to be creative and let my mind wonder a bit too.

This week I’ve been prepping for BETA feedback on Project Fox! 🌊🦊 I’m so nervous but also so excited to see what people think!

Reading wise I’ve been listening to Bunny 🐇 which has been the perfect start to spooky season, paired with an incredible Kindle find all about #folklore but through the lens of my favourite kids comfort show Scooby Doo! Honestly I’m loving it 🎃👻

I have really missed wearing jumpers!

I saw @diggerthemovie this week and honestly I was BLOWN AWAY - if you don’t know the twist is just *chefs kiss*. I adored this movie GO SEE IT! It’s thought provoking, beautiful and funny just perfect 🪏

Then we’ve been in Singapore for the @f1 this week so looking forward to the race today! 🏎️🏎️🏎️

Honeymoon reads 🤍💙🤍

I loved having two weeks to relax, explore and of course read! I feel so refreshed and these books definitely all helped me get there.

I loved immersing myself in so many different worlds and honestly I loved all of these, they are all in the words of my beloved Rocky AMAZE

So now friends go read ‘em!

I took a little break while I was on honeymoon and there’s now so many more of you here! (Eekkk!) So I thought it was time for a re introduction…

Still over the moon to say that a VERY early draft of my current WIP (yes project Fox 🦊🌊) made the long list for the @bathnovelaward - AHHHH!!!

I feel so honoured to be included in this list, especially for my first novel and it has truly given me the confidence boost to keep editing and plugging away at the story.

While the book has changed dramatically since I submitted it to the BNA, I am still so proud of myself and what I hope to be my debut novel at some point in the near (or far) future.

Also HARD launch of my pen name Charlotte Plimley (but more explanation on that someday soon I’m sure)
