Proud. Mom.❤️🎺 Tonight our son shined so brightly as principal trumpet. The whole Wind Ensemble concert was wonderful but “Festive Overture” by Dmitri Shostakovich, trans. Donald Hunsberger was epic.

Stuart practices, analyzes recordings, studies, plans, and cares so much. Ole Miss students are awesome and this group is truly so very special.

Also pretty amazing that the trumpet section’s professor (Dr. John Schuesselin) recorded this piece on the historic recording “Live in Osaka” with Hunsberger. #legacy by @prof.balach

📣Have you heard the news? 📣

🎶OCC JR.🎶

So excited this is happening and so proud to be a collaborator/partner.

Some of my most formidable moments as a child were in choir at school, church, and in the Jr. Mendelssohn. The Jr. Mendelssohn was a select youth choir founded in 1986 by Robert Page and Christine Jordanoff in Pittsburgh.

40 years later, I dedicate the launch of OCC Jr. in Oxford to the legacy of Page and Jordanoff. 🎶⭐️🎶⭐️

🎵 OCC JR. AT A GLANCE:
📅 Rehearsals begin Monday, October 19
🕒 Mondays | 3:00–4:00 PM
📍 Oxford University Depot
🎶 Open to students in grades 3–5

2026-2027 PERFORMANCE DATES:
🎄 November 12th | Oxford Tree Lighting
❄️ December 12th | Oxford Civic Chorus Winter Concert
🎻 February 20th | North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra Concert: Fire and Light

Help us reach families across the Oxford and Lafayette County community who may be excited about this new opportunity. 🎶 by @prof.balach

⭐️What an inspiring day at the Mississippi School for the Arts (@msa_brookhaven). From experiencing the great artistry of the vocal seniors to visiting with all of the students about the incredible opportunities in the Arts at the University of Mississippi, it was a fabulous event.

⭐️So fortunate to work with amazing colleagues (Jared Spears, Tyler Barnes & Hudd Byard) and reconnect with stellar Music alumni & former students (Rebecca Geihsler-Chittom & Zane Lynn) who are making a difference in our state.

⭐️Thank you to the leadership at MSA for hosting this event and congratulations to Sarah Hamman. Your students are simply impressive and it is clear how invested you are.

⭐️Talent is truly abounding in Mississippi! #artists #filmmakers #performers #musicians #designers taken in Brookhaven, Mississippi by @prof.balach
