I’m beyond grateful to have consulted on this sweet short film about body dysmorphia and the power of self-confidence 🩰 When my daughters were young and I wasn’t a professor yet, I would talk to the screen when cartoons were ableist, sexist or flat out wrong. I cried when Sophia the First sang “anything can be a princess thing.” I never thought that I’d have the opportunity to sit in a board room with the most creative people and share what I’ve learned to help the entertainment we all watch be more inclusive. A huge thank you to @disneyanimation, @disneyplus and @hillary_bradfield for allowing me to contribute to this amazing project. This is a jump in the right direction of representation 🩰

This is my first screen credit. More to come 🎊

Follow me for more history, pop culture, gender studies, parenting, and an all around attempt to make sense of this world we all share 🌍

Suffragists found creative ways to publicize their demand for equal voting rights. Fast forward and now women are a solidified voting bloc, which includes intersectional breakdowns as woman are not a monolith. Now women are advertised to during campaign cycles in sometimes overtly stereotypical gendered ways, like shopping bags. Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, November 8th or vote early 🎉

It’s happening! 🥳 Come with me and @indiegodess to London. You’ll take these two classes to immerse you in all things London while making core memories that will fill your heart (and camera roll). You don’t need to be an ongoing GCC student. Scholarships are available for current GCC students. Let’s go! 🎉 Applications at glendale.edu/studyabroad and questions can be DM’d to me. 🌟

A place of warmth and belonging where everyone knows your name (because there are name tags) ✨ What a gem of a kitschy experience in LA. No wonder it’s been going strong for 100 years. Can’t wait to go back to make connections and learn about a new topic every time 🍄

Congratulations to our 2026 Glendale Community College Pulitzer Reporting Fellow, Maria Mesropian! She is a standout Political Science and History double major who is an active member of GCC’s Scholars Program. Mesropian will travel to Armenia this summer. Her reporting explores how war, displacement, and foreign rule have shaped the preservation and evolution of Armenian culture and identity across generations.

Thanks to the generous support from the Glendale College Foundation and the Glendale Community College District, our Pulitzer Center Consortium initiative provides speakers, seminars, and other engaging learning opportunities for GCC students. Glendale College is the only community college on the West Coast with this unique opportunity.
