My latest “origami plate” was made using a 12 inch, 8 sided mold with 4 depressions. A cobalt streaky glass was fused to an iridescent granite glass resulting in elongated bubbles throughout. Then I overlaid bright yellow curls created with a vitrigraph at Bullseye Mamaroneck by Mike. Now I have to figure out what to use it for!

“Windows” - This 17”x 18” piece conjures images of the city. The Chrysler building stands tall and majestic in a rainy night. The side panels evoke busy streets running between apartment buildings with large glass windows.
Various bespoke dichroic and murrine patterns were created by Paulette, cut into ribbons and reorganized into a mesmerizing pattern of ‘lights’, separated by black opalescent glass strips that are flanked by squares of various dichroic glass on clear squares. All this sits on a shiny black base and framed in a purple metallic frame.

Last night we had say goodbye to one of the best cats of all time, Moose. Our family is devastated by this loss. Moose was more like a dog; he was huge for a cat (23 pounds), loved being brushed, followed us everywhere, meowed to let us know what he wanted and loved playing in water. I had the experience of a lifetime last night getting to see “Marianela: Timeless” from the WINGS at the Royal Opera House in London!!! @marianelanunezofficial performed Robbins’ “In the Night,” Petipa’s “La Corsaire” pas de deux, Balanchine’s “Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux,” and Ashton’s “Marguerite and Armand.”
After all those performances, she amazingly took the time to greet me, as did the Director of the Royal Ballet, Kevin O’Hare.
What a night!!!
And I got this privilege by bidding at a silent auction at the luncheon honoring the retirement of @gillianemurphy from @abtofficial

My latest two pieces:

“Jeweled Mosaic” is an 11 x 7 inch Fabergé inspired, dichroic herringbone-patterned decorative bowl in an oval shape. It is a mosaic of rectangular pieces of orange, iridescent white, iridescent gold on black, aventurine green and dichroic glass in gold, silver and blue.

“Mandala Rings” is a 10.5 inch bowl that incorporates kiln cast dichroic rings embedded with sparkly rainbow colored dichroic frit. The rings are set on a base of pure white. On the flip side is a surprise of streaky black and white glass.

“Hidden Octagons in Einstein’s Hats”

I created a 17 x 19 inch piece consisting of repeated segments or tesselations referred to as Einstein’s Hat. The “hats” are made of gold dichroic, silver dichroic and blue dichroic glass, in addition to white with rainbow irid, black with gold irid, green aventurine and orange glass. The background consists of a sheet of black coated with gold irid that is covered with a sheet of clear granite textured glass. Framed in silver to enhance the metallic quality of the piece.

This precise alignment of triangles almost broke the limits of my OCD but I persisted!

@chloemisseldine was perfection and given the roaring of the sold out theater, everyone agreed. Her prince @aran_bell was a wonderful partner and @josemlsebastian was a sexy but evil Von Rothbart.

Check out "Times Square at Night."
This 16 x 16 inch piece is my interpretation of the neon lights and bright ads in Times Square. The individual portals of dichroic glass demonstrate the unique qualities of how the elements change in different lighting and with varying combinations and thicknesses of glass. The side view shows those differing heights.
Together this work is a study in the variability of dichroic glass and together create a unique display of bright lights on a backdrop of deep Caribbean blue. Framed in frosted gold to contrast the deep backdrop.

This 11.5”x12” piece is on aqua tinted transparent glass punctuated by rays of sunshine represented with rainbow dichroic cut glass, ribbons, and stringers. The sun itself is cyan copper for its gold effect. To accent the light I also added dichroic frit pearls and cut murrine. Displaying it in a black stand maximizes the lighting effect. I call this one “Sunburst”. Notice how it changes, depending on the background and lighting.

I call this “Gradient Jewels.” It’s 10.5” x 12” and is a textured play of transparent color and frit pearls in a kaleidoscope of glass. Set onto a base of dense white sits a 9mm thick gradient of transparent colors with varying frit pearls to create a series of color blocks in a checkerboard pattern. Accented by surrounding this with dichroic on clear zig zag ribbons and framed in gold.
