I had the experience of a lifetime last night getting to see “Marianela: Timeless” from the WINGS at the Royal Opera House in London!!! @marianelanunezofficial performed Robbins’ “In the Night,” Petipa’s “La Corsaire” pas de deux, Balanchine’s “Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux,” and Ashton’s “Marguerite and Armand.”
After all those performances, she amazingly took the time to greet me, as did the Director of the Royal Ballet, Kevin O’Hare.
What a night!!!
And I got this privilege by bidding at a silent auction at the luncheon honoring the retirement of @gillianemurphy from @abtofficial

My first GAS conference was amazing ⭐️ it felt like a family reunion but even better. And I got to go with my parents and Geordi! I saw so many demos and presentations and learned so much. The @bteamglass opening night demo was jaw dropping. I was so excited to see @fumio_ren_adachi use the new @wetdogglass kiln in the new casting center @corningmuseumstudio and it did not disappoint! We had a little digifab meet up that I totally forgot to photograph. The fashion show by @laura44donefer was phenomenal! Thank you @fredini and the @starworksglass team for letting me photograph the closing night demo. The Tough Stuff exhibit at @corningmuseum was so inspiring! It was so great to connect with so many artists and old friends ♥️

Last Friday, I was so lucky to see @gillianemurphy final performance of Swan Lake with @abtofficial. My mom @profpaulette has been bringing me to the ballet since I was about 7 years old and Gillian was a hero of mine. We used to go to the stage door after every performance for photos and signatures. We even found a playbill of @gillianemurphy performing Swan Lake in 2002. My fellow Center Stage fans will recognize some faces. I also did some dancing back in the day 🩰

It was such a privilege and pleasure to attend @gillianemurphy final performance after 29 years of dancing with @abtofficial. I have seen her grow and perfect her craft over all those years. When I started bringing @rebecca.erde to the ballet, Gillian always took the time to take a photo with her (see third picture from 2008). She will be greatly missed but I look forward to seeing what she does next ❤️

About 50 people attended a ceremony in my father’s hometown of Koblenz to install stopersteiners (stumbling blocks) for my father (Addie) and his parents (Paula and Sally). These stones are placed where the honorees lived and give the birthdates, year of deportation, site of imprisonment and type of death (ermodort means murdered) or if they were freed as was my father. These three stones join those of my grandfather’s brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew.
Stumbling stones are meant to serve as a reminder of what happened to people who lived at that location so the Holocaust and their lives should never be forgotten.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our family, friends and students! We’re very thankful for being in Aruba this year although it’s definitely unorthodox. The 86 degree weather and warm Caribbean Sea are fantastic. Love to all! Paulette and Steve

Dichroic waves surrounded by dichroic pebbles. The piece is 12x12 inches and flat; the waves create a 3D optical illusion.
