Dance Place AFTER DARK continues…

ABYSS: post body is an iterative and site specific dance and sound performance that creates conduits for collective grief processing and examinations of the ways we perform ourselves in club culture and social gathering spaces.

Created and directed by slowdanger, the work examines our bodies’ (abysses) states of being within public structures and its relationship to other bodies – the site, vibration, groove, physical labor, absurdity, power and release.

ABYSS is a practice of instigating our bodies to be a site of change and protest within a burning world.

⚠️ This work utilizes haze and lasers.

The 30 minute work opens with a physical performance intervention that segues into a live techno set, inviting audiences to transition from viewing the work into activating the dance floor.

Be part of the experience. Get your ticket today using the link in our bio.

Remember that time we threw a tunnel party? @dustyjoylife @alexandercromer @maimey_gummers

I believe this tunnel is now sealed with concrete. RIP "Pee Tunnel." 🤣 (The tunnel was cleaned the day before our arrival!)

I see @toddkeebs face in there @keebsinthebackground

If anyone is curious we ran a projector like a laser and hazed out the place then #projectionmapping the walls.

It's about that time. The living lights will only be on for a few more days.

Each year, we join with @oakland_412 to display the living lights in Oakland. This year we chose the trees in front of UPMC Magee for another season.

Thank you to everyone who has come out to see them! ❤️

$Did you know the haze at your favorite club is chemically identical to vape juice? 🌫️🤯 It’s true—most "water-based" fog is a mix of Propylene Glycol & Vegetable Glycerin. Here is the science on the safety trade-off: A vape cloud can be over 1,000 mg/m³. A hazy club is usually capped at 10–40 mg/m³. You are breathing a tiny fraction of what a vaper inhales. But there are still risks: The Audience Risk: Mostly just a dry throat (glycols suck moisture out of the air). The Worker Risk: This is the serious part. Studies from the University of British Columbia (Varughese et al., 2005) found that crew members exposed daily for years had reduced lung function and more chronic wheezing than the average person. 🫁 If you work in the fog, monitor your exposure and stay hydrated! 💧 #stagehand #liveevents #lightingdesign #productionlife #clublife by @projectileobjects$
