HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY READING!

As we return to our classrooms and libraries and help students set reading goals for 2024 and add titles to their TBR lists, we hope that our most recent MG and YA #ProjectLITBookClub selections (shared here) serve as a wonderful starting point. 📚💙💚 by @projectlitcomm

As we head into another school year, I love that the majority of our states have embraced @jonathanhaidt’s #phonefreeschools movement. A logical next step? Dedicating daily time for our READ and WRAP routine. In this algorithmic, artificial age, where all us are increasingly distracted, it’s critical that we help our young people learn to “lock in” and get lost in great books.

Be sure to check out my yearlong WRAP sequence, along with a whole bunch of literacy activities and resources, over on Substack. https://jarredamato.substack.com #justreadit by @projectlitcomm

Our 2025 focus remains the same: to READ WIDELY and to READ OFTEN. We know that every student (and adult) enters the new year at a different point in their reading journey. Therefore, we recommend that teachers and librarians work with students to set personalized reading goals and develop customized reading challenges. Feel free to use this list as a starting point, and be sure to share what y’all come up with!

And, as we ease into the new year and update our TBR lists, we’re excited to reveal our next round of Project LIT picks later this month! 📚🧡 #ProjectLITBookClub #JustReadIt by @projectlitcomm
