POSTS STORIES REELS

Running takes you places. Physically, mentally, emotionally – the journey of a runner can’t be measured in miles alone. Project Transcend is Mount to Coast’s way of sharing individual runner’s journeys with the global running community, and to help bring their ideas to life, we’re offering to provide shoes, gear, promotion, and potential financial support. We’re open to any type of project so long as it aligns with our ambition to transcend distance. How are you going to go beyond?

3076 miles. San Francisco to New York City. An iconic record.

@camerondeanbalser is currently on the road to challenging a famous FKT, chasing the supported transcontinental record of 42 days, 6 hours and 30 minutes. Starting on October 10, he’s passed through every type of fall weather as he heads east: in the last few days he was forced to stop early as the rain made the dirt road he was running on impassable by his support vehicle. The following morning the team woke up to snow. That day Cam went on to cross Cameron’s Pass, the highest point of the journey. In his first 17 days, he’s crossed the mountainous states of California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado: the straight, flat roads in Nebraska are tantalizingly close.

From coast to coast, Mount to Coast is supporting Cam every step of the way by @projecttranscend.mtc – you can follow his adventure @breaking42fkt

A few facts from running the length of the UK.

1,298 km. 13 days. 95,106 calories.

The numbers only tell half the story.

Ria Xi @whereisriax is running 20,000 km across Eurasia, from Vladivostok, Russia, to Lisbon, Portugal. Today marks day 174 of her expedition, with 7,707 km covered. Along the way, she set the supported women’s FKT for crossing China in 113 days, 8 hours and 58 minutes.

A few years ago, a quarter-life crisis left Ria feeling lost. Running became an outlet, and discovering what her body was capable of drew her into ultrarunning. “Ultrarunning gives you a sense of control over your own life.”

The 20,000 km Experiment is a chance to rewrite her story. After a year of preparation, she finally set off in May 2026. Having once struggled to turn ideas into action, simply getting this project off the ground was a victory in itself. “Whatever comes next, I know I’ll keep running, because running has changed my mindset so much.”

The project is also driven by Ria’s hope that running, a sport almost anyone can take part in, can connect people across borders in a world where so many voices go unheard. Along her route through 17 countries, local running groups have joined her for parts of the way. Hearing from people who have been inspired by her efforts reminds Ria why the project matters.

Through @projecttranscend.mtc, Mount to Coast is supporting Ria and her team with running shoes for the expedition. We look forward to seeing her through to the end.

but why?

i have always been hungry for a challenge. ever since completing my London to Paris run last year, i've been on the hunt for something bigger.

for me, this run was all about getting closer to finding my limits, both mentally and physically. this run was about learning more about myself, in the most brutal way possible. there is nothing to make you feel more human than really leaving yourself all out there.

physically & mentally drained every day, i really felt the full spectrum of emotions. i reached new heights, created new internal dialogs, i was vulnerable and i grew.

i do difficult things to create a new definition of the word. when i prove to myself that i can overcome massive obstacles, it allows me to transfer that to my everyday life - other challenges seem less mountainous.

i decided to fundraise for @mhfa_official because it is a cause that means everything to me. i battle with my own mental health daily, and i watch some of the closest people in my life fighting their own battles too.

the biggest lesson i learnt from this whole journey: we are all stronger as a unit, everything is easier together.

i ran from Sydney to Melbourne in the best ultra-shoe in the world. the @mounttocoast H1 was not just a trainer but a mode of transport i could trust and count on every single day. i am proud to have represented MTC and @projecttranscend.mtc.

40 ultramarathons in 40 days around the entire 1.755km perimeter of The Netherlands.

PROJECT 40:40 = finished ✅ august 31st > october 9th

I feel proud, energetic, full of love and hungry for more.

The goal was to challenge myself, show the world what I’m capable of and spread the word that if you “ignore the noise” you can finish everything.

[IGNORE THE NOISE]

No matter how many times you fall or fail, no matter what people think of you or say about you, no matter what the voices in your head tell you. If you keep ignoring the noise, everything is possible.

I’ve had 3 big moments during this project where every step I took I was in excrusiating pain. Not because of an serious injury, but because my body didn’t agree with the effort I was putting in. I had to remind myself step by step that this is why I started this whole thing and that the pain will settle just by ignoring it.

I ignored the noise and became the first person ever to run the entire perimeter of The Netherlands.

I came out a different man, with loads of mental victories and a crazy hunger for more. But above all: I finished pain free.

I’ve quite literally travelled from mount to coast with Mount to Coast @mounttocoast. And I can’t thank them enough for being part of this amazing journey and providing me and the team with the best shoes in the game. I’ve tested the C1 & H1 to the extremes and they came out crazy strong.

Let this be my initiation into the ultra and trail world and let it be the first of many big challenges.

ICEFIELDS PARKWAY RECORD BROKEN!!! 🤯

Can’t quite believe it but we just set a new FKT running 230km from Banff to Jasper along the Icefields Parkway in a time of 30:02:21!

What an epic adventure, honestly the most surreal couple days running through one of the most beautiful places on earth with the best crew imaginable. The Rockies really put on a show for us and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience!

From running in the blazing sun to the craziest storm I have ever witnessed, to powering through the night under a full moon and seeing a partial eclipse without another soul insight it really was something so special!

I have never had to dig as deep as I did these past couple of days and I had to go places I didn’t even know existed but I couldn’t have done any of it without my amazing crew and I feel so grateful to have been able to share that experience with these guys!

Over 1 hour and 36 minutes off the previous record which blew all expectations out the water but records are only temporary… the memories made are something I’ll never forget ❤️

Think it’s time to sit with this one for a little while and try digest what on earth just happened 🙏🏻

Running Osaka to Tokyo 500km in 5days mission complete

This is my first post written in my own words since day one

First of all, I want to thank my sponsors for believing in me and supporting me when I said I would run 100km for five consecutive days, even though the longest I've ever run is 85km

thank you to @williamgoodge and @deanbartlett whom I only met a month ago, for believing in me until the finish line

And, although we all had work, and there were few days when we could all get together, and we started without any experience, I am truly grateful to @kaitotakamatsu @ujigraphic @selarrr__ who supported me in every way until the end, handling the filming, real-time editing, driving, and massage without causing me any stress

We are the best long run crew

And this is only the first step
I'll be back soon
Become stronger

GRACIAS PATAGONIA,
GRACIAS ARGENTINA 🇦🇷
GRACIAS CHILE 🇨🇱
