We’re back with the parkour gym tours, this time up in Manchester at the Project Z Parkour academy @projectzacademy

This video is a little dated, as it was shot when I was up here for the Level 4 Parkour Coaching qualification back in October with @parkouruk

With that aside, this huge 8,900 sq ft building is still in the process of being fully developed, but already they have made huge progress, building out a very exciting offering for parkour athletes, parents, and children who attend their sessions.

As you walk into the building there is a warm up area for kids to do some light movement before their class starts, as well as a large sprung floor.

They have a mix of fixed blocks, bars, and some portable equipment. This adds a bit of variety to classes and open sessions.

They’re also one of the two indoor venues in the UK that have the @brick.parkour equipment by @gymnovauk , an organisation that recently partnered with Parkour UK.

As a rail enthusiast I love seeing the inclusion of a scaffolding set up, and a warped wall for all those Ninja Warrior Fans out there. There’s also a foam pit, with a bar running through the middle to support those learning swing flip movements.

Project Z Academy is owned by king of the North & @teamrealityltd Grim Jam standing champion @coachredfern , and he’s told me about some of the exciting plans he has for the space.

It’s too early for me to give this venue a David Belle score, but once it is fully fleshed out I will be back for a more in-depth review!

I also apologise for the voiceover on this one. I’m coming off the back of a nasty illness 😅

typical conversation with @coachredfern :

tom: “you’re going to hate me for this”
me: “yep” *proceeds to do it anyway*

this guy knows how to push me in the right direction🫡

Finding that switch🤝

Tackled a few scary challenges over the last week or two, so it’s nice to be breaking them a bit quicker (and without crash mats🫠 #gymsoft )
