Get to know our Head Coach and Team Manager, @coachredern , ahead of the Parkour Earth World Championships next week.

Tom is an experienced parkour coach and practitioner. He recently qualified as a Parkour UK Level 4 Master Coach & Coach Educator, supporting new coaches to develop the skills to become competent coaches themselves.

Tom also has a fierce competitor’s side. He has smashed podium places at Team Reality’s Grim Jam event consistently, with 1st place finishes from 2021-2026. He also dominated the Parkour Takeover League, and qualified for the SPL back in 2024.

Tom worked with one of our athletes, Megan Powell, in the lead up to the British Parkour Championships this summer, and we saw how much progress and impact he made by supporting and working with Megan.

We’re excited for Tom to support the rest of the team next week in Brno!

Here’s your coaching team for our athletes at the upcoming Parkour Earth World Championships.

We’re happy to welcome Sean Newsham @seannewsham in as a style coach, supporting the athletes in that discipline to help them build, craft, and develop their lines ready for the competition.

Sean impressed us massively throughout the British Parkour Championships, making sure the athletes were looked after, listened to, and with enough instruction with what to do and where to go next! We couldn’t of done it without him. His place has been funded by @streetmonkeys following a successful British Parkour Championships at their venue earlier this year.

In the Head Coach and Team Manager role, we have Tom Redfern @coachredfern - Tom has already been working with a few of our athletes to help them get ready for the World Champs, and we can’t wait for him to work with the rest of the team to bring out the best in them.

There isn’t long left until the Championships now… Stay tuned!

#ParkourUK #Parkour

STANDING BACKFLIP😄😄

So chuffed to get a standing backflip and have it feeling comfortable and confident!

Awesome coaching from @coachredfern as always ☺️

It was also so useful doing some work on swinging and getting more confident with releasing and following where the hips go.

Main tip for future me to remember with backflips😆: imagine a string pulling you up from the chest and when you jump let this lead. Chest forward and up.

Getting started with parkour can feel a little daunting, especially if you don’t know anyone who trains or have a local parkour facility or coach nearby.

The truth is there are lots of different ways to get started. You could join a class, find a local community, explore an outdoor park, learn through online tutorials or simply start by experimenting with movement in your local area.

Not every option will be available to everyone, and that’s okay, and this shouldn’t limit you. You don’t need expensive equipment, years of athletic experience or access to a dedicated parkour space to take your first steps.

Hopefully, this gives you a few ideas for finding your own way into parkour. If you’ve been training for a while, why not share this with someone who’s been thinking about giving it a go?

There’s always a way to get started, wherever you are 💪

@megpowellfitness has been putting in the work on the #roadtobrno26 for the @parkourearth World Championships later this month 🔥

Megan is competing in the skill & speed categories, and has been working hard alongside @coachredfern at @projectzacademy to refine her skills ahead of the competition.

It’s been incredible to see how much progress Meg has made in such a short space of time, and we cannot wait to see her on the world stage in the Czech Republic later this month 🔥

Meg has been documenting the entire process leading up to the World Champs over on her Instagram. It’s been a great insight into how she’s been preparing for the competition.

Show some support to Meg by leaving a message of support & dropping here a follow 🤘
