⛪️Two artists were selected for the MON-ART residency at Tihany Benedictine Abbey ( Tihanyi apátság ) to explore the connections between contemporary art, Benedictine heritage and the natural landscape of Lake Balaton. Through collaboration with the monastic and local communities, they will develop artistic projects that encourage shared creation, ecological awareness and new ways of connecting with the area’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

⛪️ @sanja.dragutinovic.komatina is an artist, iconographer and conservator-restorer based between Budapest and Belgrade. She graduated in painting and restoration from the University of Arts in Belgrade, where she later taught conservation and restoration for 25 years, and also was a guest lecturer at University in Thessaloniki (Greece). She specialized in wall-painting conservation at ICCROM in Rome and worked on conservation projects in Turkey, Italy and Serbia. After decades devoted to conservation and education, she has returned to her primary artistic practice: painting. Her work has been exhibited in Serbia, Hungary and Canada. Her recent practice combines traditional icon painting with a personal artistic expression.

⛪️Edoardo Bosi, also known as @edoquarto, is an Italian artist, musician and sound designer based in Milan. Born in the UK and raised in Uganda, his practice moves between music, sound recording, sound design and experimental approaches to listening. His work explores relationships between sound, place, memory and human experience/ perception, often combining field recordings with composed and improvised music. He studied Music Production and Sound Engineering in Berlin before completing a Master’s degree in Music Publishing in Milan. His work spans recorded music, live performance and site-responsive sound projects.

⛪️“I’m interested in discovering Tihany by listening rather than simply looking at it. The residency gives me the time to become attentive to the small sounds, silences, voices and rhythms that make a place what it is, and to understand how those sounds change through the people who inhabit it.”

Our partner in the @eeemerging project, Festival d'Ambronay - Centre culturel de rencontre is looking for musicians to participate in the 26th edition of the Ambronay Academy – Sustainable-EEEMERGING! 🎶🇫🇷

The Academy will bring together 22 young instrumentalists and singers training, working and playing under the direction of the renowned singer and conductor Damien Guillon, with a program which is designed to facilitate collaborative work on a landmark piece: Georg Friedrich Handel’s Dixit Dominus.

🗓️ When? From June 21 to July 20, 2027: 2 weeks of training and 2 weeks of European Tour – (travel days June 20 and July 21).
🍽️🏡 Free of charge! Transportation, meals and accommodation will be provided. The concerts of the tour will be remunerated.

👇 To join this training and professional integration program, applicants must:
Be 30 years old maximum on the day the training begins
Have a Historically Informed practice of their instrument or singing
Have completed higher studies at a national conservatory or equivalent institution
Have previous experience of playing in a group.

Upcycle your emotion – együtt alkottunk a Művészetek Völgyében 🧵🌿

Szuper (és forró) délutánt töltöttünk a szabadban, ahol dekoráltunk és átalakítottunk gyűjtött ruhadarabokat.

A résztvevők kézi varrással és szitázással kísérletezhettek, a Vörös Réka Stúdió grafikáinak segítségével. A workshop fókuszában a kreatív önkifejezés, a ruhák újrahasználata és a közös alkotás állt. 10 és 70 év közöttiekkel dolgoztunk, helyi, budapesti és nemzetközi vendégekkel – annyira örültünk nektek!

Köszönjük a meghívást és a lehetőséget a ProProgressione és a Művészetek Völgye csapatának, hogy egy kicsit kiszabadíthattuk a varrást a műhely falai közül! 💚

Upcycle your emotion – creating together at the Valley of Arts 🧵🌿

We spent a wonderful (and very hot!) afternoon with decorating and transforming collected garments outdoors.

Participants could experiment with hand sewing and screen printing, using graphics by Vörös Réka Stúdió. The workshop focused on creative self-expression, reusing clothes and creating together. We worked with participants aged 10 to 70, welcoming local, Budapest-based and international guests – we were so happy to have you with us!

🇭🇺 🏳️‍🌈 Örülünk, hogy részesei lehettünk a PLACE – Performing Landscapes projektnek!

Ezen a különleges szabadtéri workshopon upcycling művészeti technikákkal kísérleteztünk: közösen készítettünk textilinstallációt, pólókat alakítottunk át, szitáztunk és különböző kézműves technikákat próbáltunk ki. A program számunkra nemcsak az alkotásról szólt, hanem a közösségi tudásátadásról, a kapcsolódásról és az érzelmek közös feldolgozásáról is.

Nagy öröm volt együtt dolgozni helyi, VII. kerületi résztvevőkkel, valamint a kulturális szektor nemzetközi szakembereivel.

Nyitottak vagyunk hasonló együttműködésekre a jövőben is. 💚

🇬🇧 🏳️‍🌈 We were delighted to be part of the PLACE – Performing Landscapes project!

During this unique open-air workshop, we explored upcycling through artistic textile practices, including a collaborative textile installation, T-shirt upcycling, screen printing and various craft techniques. For us, the workshop was about much more than making—it was about sharing knowledge, building connections and creating space for collective emotional expression.

It was a pleasure to work together with local participants from Budapest’s 7th district alongside international professionals from the cultural sector.

We are always open to similar collaborations and community-based projects. 💚

🇭🇺🏳️‍🌈Több közös alkotás. Több nyitott köztér. Kevesebb fogyasztás. A közterek nemcsak arra valók, hogy átsétáljunk rajtuk. Arra is, hogy együtt alakítsuk őket.

A Bethlen Színház előtt most tűkkel, fonalakkal, szitával és textilekkel dolgoztunk. A helyi családok és járókelők folyamatosan bekapcsolódtak a közös alkotásba, imádtuk a kültéri alkotást. Volt, aki a textilinstallációt hímezte tovább, más saját motívumokat készített, vagy egy régi felsőjét alakította át.
A workshop a PLACE – Performing Landscapes program részeként valósult meg. A közös textilinstalláció és a „Budapest Your Regimes” felirat az áprilisi budapesti eseményekre reflektált, illetve közös városi emlékezésre és párbeszédre hívta a résztvevőket a textilen keresztül.
Köszönjük partnereinknek: Pro Progressione, Bethlen Színház, Hiatus és Norwegian Landscape Theatre. Külön köszönet Vörös Rékának, akivel most először valósítottunk meg közösen egy workshopot.

🇬🇧🏳️‍🌈More collective making. More open public spaces. Less consumption. Public spaces are not just places to pass through, they are places to shape together.

In front of Bethlen Theatre, we spent the afternoon working with needles, threads, screen printing and textiles. Local families and passers-by kept joining the workshop throughout the day, we absolutely loved creating outdoors. Some contributed to the collective textile installation, others embroidered their own motifs or transformed an old shirt into something new.
The workshop was part of the PLACE – Performing Landscapes programme. The collective textile installation and the “Budapest Your Regimes” message reflected on the events that took place in Budapest this April, inviting participants to engage in shared urban remembrance and dialogue through textiles.

📖On June 12, anyone who visited the @bethlen_szinhaz was treated to a wonderful book launch: the Budapest version of *The Book of Dreaming* made its debut with the participation of Andy & Beckie and the children who dreamed up the book’s content. The book will go to press shortly, so you won’t have to wait much longer to flip through its pages!
