I’m honored to join the Recording Academy’s 2026 New Member Class.

For years, I’ve advocated for artists, producers, songwriters, and creative entrepreneurs to not just create culture, but own it, protect it, and build lasting businesses around it. Becoming part of the Academy is another opportunity to help ensure the voices of creators are represented in the conversations that shape our industry.

I’m looking forward to building a stronger music ecosystem in Chicago, advocating for creators, and helping push our industry toward greater transparency, equity, and long-term ownership.

Colorado may have just created one of the most creator friendly business structures in the country.

SB26-133 creates a new business entity known as an Artist Company (A-Corp LLC), giving creators something potentially more valuable than funding alone: a way to raise capital without automatically giving away control.

The law allows artists to:
• Maintain voting control
• Contribute intellectual property as capital
• Protect creative assets through reversion rights
• Build equity from creative contributions
• Operate with an artistic mission at the center

The challenge was never access to capital. The challenge was accessing capital without surrendering ownership.

It’s about distribution quietly rewriting the rules… again.
