A little reintroduction. 🩷

I’m Patrice Barden, LMSW, therapist and founder of Provision Counseling.

I work with women and teens who are navigating the parts of life that can feel complicated like relationships, anxiety, mood changes, grief, transitions, confidence, and the patterns that sometimes keep us from feeling truly connected.
🩷
Therapy with me is a space to slow down, get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

Providing therapy you can rely on & growth you can feel.

I currently have limited availability for new insurance and private-pay clients in Metro Detroit, both in-person and virtually.

If you’ve been considering therapy, this might be your sign. 🌿

Three years of private practice. 🩷

When I started, I thought success would look like having all the answers. Instead, it’s looked like learning, adapting, making mistakes, celebrating small wins, and showing up again the next day.

Building a private practice has stretched me professionally and personally in ways I never expected. I’m grateful for every client who has trusted me and everyone who has supported this journey.

Here’s to three years of growth and to everything that’s still ahead. 🌿 by @provisionco1

You can have faith in God and go to Therapy! Here’s how⬇️
.
.
1. Seeking a professional for help does not cancel out your faith!
.
2. The Bible even talks about seeking help (wisdom & counsel) Proverbs 15:22
.
3. Therapy provides self-awareness which can aid in our personal growth and aid in our transformation spiritually.

Becoming a therapist was something I knew I always wanted to do starting back in 2010 when I started my social work program and found out what all a social worker could do within our profession(and I wanted to be like my big cousin who is a psychologist lol).
.
But who knew 13 years later I would have my own business that is doing really well in just 3-4months ☺️
.
All credit goes to God! ✨

Check out these different ways you can cope cognitively.
.
Did you know that coping includes more than behavioral strategies such as taking a walk, taking deep breaths, listening to music, etc.???
.
Cognitive coping is changing the way you feel by changing the way you think 💫
.
1st you need to identify your thoughts and recognize if it’s helpful or not.
Next you can engage in one of these coping styles to help with fostering more helpful thoughts!!

When I was designing my therapy office, I was looking at other therapists office and was trying to mimic it but I quickly realized I wasn’t being my self. I thought that what they were doing worked so if I did it, I would get clients too.
.
🔑: Be your true authentic self regardless of what others are doing. You will attract who(clients, relationships, etc) that is meant for you!

🫢
.
We have to start taking accountability for our actions and reactions. Yes, what you experienced in life is real & impacted you but it’s time to start recognizing why we respond the way we do & learn new ways to cope 🔑

Simple…yet effective.
.
.
Gratitude is something we talk about often but it is more than just being thankful but intentionally shifting one’s perspective from all the things that are going wrong to remember what is going right or even what has gone right in the past (if you can’t find anything).
.
This can also be utilized as a CBT approach by reframing your thoughts.
.
Instead of thinking “Everything is going wrong” try..
“A lot is not working out as planned right now, but Im thankful that I was able to figure ___out and it has worked in the past”.
.
This gives you reassurance, and can shift your feelings from worried to hopeful. ❤️
