Today, I got to spend sometime with the Bunch family at their groves in Hardee County. They took time to show me their young blocks, mature blocks, progress on management practices, and discussed pest pressures their area has been facing. Thank you for hosting a grove visit. 🍊 taken in Hardee County by @prvcga

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to have Ellen Cruz from the Office of Agriculture Commissioner Simpson join us for our board meeting. She gave us updates and answered many questions about Commissioner Simpson’s goals for his time in office. Thank you so much to our friends @alico.inc and PRVCGA board member Joby Sherrod for taking some time out of the day to show us around some groves! 🍊 taken in Arcadia, Florida by @prvcga

Today, we got to spend the day with grower Mr. Kenny Sanders on a grove visit! Thank you so very much for hosting us and our regional UF/IFAS Extension Agent, Ajia Paolillo. Mr. Kenny took the time to show us his resets in IPCs, more mature blocks, irrigational management, and progress on different practices he is currently using in his groves! 🌳🍊

Today, we spent some time in the grove on a visit with one of our growers, Mr. John Paul. He spent time showing us his different blocks throughout his grove, his irrigation system, and discussing the different practices he has been using! We were even able to bring a few of our friends from the Department of Citrus. Thank you for hosting us and taking time to show us around. We had a blast.🍊🌳 taken in DeSoto County by @prvcga

Yesterday night, we had our first DeSoto County Florida 4-H Citrus Club meeting of the year! This year, we are incorporating IPCs to give the kids an idea of the growing process that many growers use on their own resets. Each of the kids received their project tree, IPC, and growing guide for the year. We are excited for this year’s club. 🍊

We are just two days away from kickoff of our 2023-2024 DeSoto County Florida 4-H Citrus Club. Once again this year, we will be co-leading the club with DeSoto County UF/IFAS Extension Agent, Ajia Paolillo. We wanted to take a moment to thank our friends at Alico Citrus for providing trees for the kids projects. The kids projects will run from June to February. They have the opportunity to show and sell them at DeSoto County Fair Association 2024. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our passion for all things citrus with the next generation of producers! 🍊

Tonight, we had the opportunity to present our 2023 High School Scholarship. Our scholarship program was designed for high school graduates who choose to pursue a career in agriculture. Congratulations to Miss Samantha Ann Shackelford on being our 2023 recipient. We are so excited to see all the impact you will have in the industry. 🍊 taken in Hardee High School by @prvcga
