Have 30 minutes to lend a hand? We could use some help around 1:45–2:15ish with a few things as the sale wraps up. No special skills required, just a willingness to be useful to your kid’s school.

MONDAY CHALLENGE: BRING ONE ITEM!

The beloved PS 58 Rummage Sale is back October 18 from 10 AM–2 PM, and collection starts Monday!

We’re challenging every PS 58 family to add at least ONE item to our Textile Donation Hub. Send your kid in with shorts they’ve outgrown, jeans you no longer wear, shoes, a fall jacket, a Halloween costume, or a whole bag. Every item is a potential $1 raised for PS 58 while giving something useful a second life and keeping it out of the waste stream.

Donation bins will be open in the PS 58 lobby Monday–Friday from 8:15 AM–6:30 PM, and donations are welcome from the entire community, so tell your friends and neighbors, too.

Let’s see how full we can get those bins! by @ps58.pta

This spring PS 58 Rummage Sale was a reminder that old things still have plenty of life left in them.

The day brought together neighbors catching up, kids searching for the hidden Pokémon shirt, and someone finding sneakers that somehow perfectly matched their shirt.

Alongside local families, we welcomed guests from CHIPS’ Frances Residence, the New Immigrant Project, and nearby shelters serving unhoused neighbors. Leftover items were passed along to Wearable Collections to continue their reuse.

A very good Brooklyn day. by @ps58.pta
