“Solve et Coagula” According to Google: “Solve et Coagula” is a Latin phrase meaning “dissolve and coagulate”. In alchemy, it signifies a process of breaking down a substance into its basic components (solve) and then recombining them into a new form (coagula). This principle is not only central to alchemical transformations but also resonates with broader concepts of change, renewal, and self-discovery.” This phrase has been living in my mind rent free because I’ve been stuck at a crossroads for a while. But ultimately it’s just been me in my own way. This phrase has helped remind me that in order to better myself, I need to dissolve often and let go of this character and story that I’ve been holding on to that no longer serves me. Yesterday marked August’s full moon; The Sturgeon Moon. This is associated with themes of resilience, inner strength, and ancient wisdom. It’s also a time to connect with your intuition, reflect on personal growth and release what no longer serves you. So I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting today and made this art piece as a reminder to not hold on to past identities that limit me or no longer serve me. If you’re feeling stuck or lost right now, remember what is important to you and what will lift you up going forward.
