As pretty lights finished playing, concluding one of the most incredible weekends I’ve had in a long time, I was overwhelmed with one thought.
As I celebrate 8 years of recovery, living one of the best moments in my entire life right now, professionally, spiritually, and mentally, the thought came to me that I think I may be done healing and have moved on to a different stage of life, healed. Incredibly grateful for the results of the work I’ve put in and the gifts God has given me and ready to continue on the biggest journey so far.

@sexualmanatee traversing a 10k person pretty lights crowd to come find me for the first time in over a decade, using only a picture of my surroundings, filled my whole ass spirit.

Finally trying @esoteric__vibes’ @_dripliquids potions made the weekend.

And I could not have survived without my squad planning literally everything @snarleykyder @descension_arts .

If you’ll be at the CEG Syndemic Summit in Huntington this week, make sure to come by breakout room 2 on Wednesday at 3:15 for the FLHRC Director of Programs’ presentation on Compassionate Overdose Response. This is an incredibly important topic that is not talked about enough, so we highly encourage all attendees to make sure this one’s on your list! There are many seemingly small details that can make a big difference in overdose response that folks might not even think to address, & it’s up to us as caregivers & harm reductionists to show up with the facts. Surviving an overdose doesn’t have to be a painful, traumatic experience. People deserve compassionate care, no matter what the ailment is.
