So excited to announce one of the new suppliers for Púca café: Anascaul allotment gardens

We had to go out to see if for ourselves to make sure the eggs are from happy hens. The hens are living a lovely little life with loads of room and loads of sass!

The vegetables are also gorgeous and of course chemical free. The produce gives me such joy and I got lots of culinary inspiration from this visit. 💜 by @puca.dingle

If you've been to our little garden you will know we love our little birds that find a safe haven in the garden. Did we go overboard with the feeding and the birdbath? Perhaps - but what's nicer than sitting out with a coffee listening go birdsong while Dingle town is rush rush?

Púca is one year old today. 💜

I can't even believe I'm typing out that sentence. Last year we were renovating the place ourselves and it didn't sink in that our dream of opening our own little place was coming true - especially in this a old cottage with a little garden.

Púca has put us in the center of the community. From all our friends helping us with painting and family calling in for tea, to community events, markets, gigs and most importantly: FOOD!

It's been amazing to be able to work with so many local suppliers. There is such excitement when our veg lady brings in a crate of goodies without us knowing what it is, sifting through the beautiful produce to get inspiration on what to make next... Púca has been our love letter to food and community, and shows how they are symbiotic. One day I came to the café to find a huge bushel of fresh bayleafs from one of our regular's garden tied to the doorhandle and I made bayleaf cake - this is what drives us. The recipe testing, the baking, the cooking and hearing your feedback has been so fulfilling. 💜

Thank you for all the cups of tea, your support, your lovely words. Special thanks to Chris, Rachel and Sophie, our amazing staff who have been with us from the first day we opened our doors, to Declans family for all their support, family recipes and baked goods, my gorgeous girlfriends (I don't think a single day has gone by that at least one of you didn't stick their heads in) and of course all the customers over the year - your support means SO MUCH to our small business.

To hopefully many more years to come!
