As we await a big Texan rain storm this weekend…I thought it would be funny to tell our little rain dance of a story. You can hear the rain in the song which made us really want to make it rain through the window…a hot day in July…and we thought maybe we could get a hose…and we found a hose at @toddphelan1 house and we had the team faking the rain for about 30 min and then a real storm hit and it delayed us a solid 2 hours. But that cloudy sky is kind of what we needed as hard as it made it on us. We barely made it through the day, having to work with and against nature. But for what it’s worth, we made something special and it wouldn’t be anything if it weren’t for the crew that held us together. Thank you @toddphelan1 for having us and letting us film on your land. Special thanks to @mireille.blond for taking time out of your busy day to help me cut some wood and drill them together to make this window! And to @bigshotstudioco who glued all of the moss on it. A high priestess witch living in darkness, tethered to “All Wylde Things”. We had a blast collaborating on this creative helping launch @prizefight.studio. From what initially started as a spoof of a 90’s Calvin Klein perfume ad, blossomed into a modern day fever dream- the kind of creative we vibe with. We loved the process of shaping this idea, pulling from a vintage palette and making something fresh and different. Prize Fight is not afraid to think outside the box, and punch above their weight! I told us to pass the braid slowly because it represented a woman’s story that we all pass on to the next generation. Even if the braid is cut off, it grows back. This giant braid was made twice with the help of @jerrybland and her dog. “Pray to Saint Joan of Arc You’re gonna die in the dark Or get run out of town” @tele_novella_tx I heard this song for a year meditating to the lyrics thinking what it wanted to say visually. Funny how words can take on new meanings of their own. We knew it wanted to flip things upside down. Some of it unfolded like a tarot card and some of it wrote itself the way it needed to. Love that it’s there for anyone to make their own meaning out of it…and it has a secret message of its own. It was really healing to make this one with everyone. “Depressed” is out peeps!! So HAPPY 😝 to finally share this one.�The release feels extra emotional today☺️ We all need some rainbow tinsel vibes. Made this at the beginning of the year, during a time that felt heavy and strange. Which is maybe why it mattered so much to do something for art sakes. Anytime we get to make something on film, it feels like a small victory. We shot @bettercalltheo Lonely Too Long on 16mm with an incredible group of people who showed up with a lot of heart and trust in the process. Music videos like this only exist because a crew values the work we do together. Deeply grateful y’all were down to make it possible. Thank you Theo for coming to me with your dreams, I was so happy to play in your world. It’s a pleasure to get to debut this next chapter, a single from your epic upcoming album. I always said your music reminds me of pink bubble gum in the best way and it’s funny how it magically made its way into the video and future album art. Thank you for letting me put my grandmother Eva as “La Beautée de l’Année.” She meant the world to me and it’s so special to immortalize her on film. Both of my grandmothers got to be in it!
