ONE STEP AT A TIME. ❤️

A year ago, it was just a dream.
One young man, a courageous heart, and the belief that one person, one step at a time, could change someone’s life.
Today, after walking across Peru, Kerrsen is just 25 kilometres away from Pucallpa.

Tomorrow, his extraordinary journey comes to an end. But for a family waiting here in the Peruvian Amazon, a beautiful new chapter is about to begin.
A safe home. A place where children can grow, where a family can dream, and where hope can take root.

Through exhaustion, pain, and countless challenges, Kerrsen kept moving forward, guided by compassion and an unwavering determination to make a difference.
What began as one young man’s dream is becoming a family’s reality.

Kerrsen, tomorrow we welcome you with open arms and hearts overflowing with gratitude.
Some journeys are measured in miles. Others, in the lives they touch.🙏💛🙏 taken in Pucallpa, Peru by @pureartfoundation

So proud of you, Charles! ❤️
It’s hard to believe that Charles joined the Pure Art Foundation family just a year and a half ago. In such a short time, we have watched him grow, learn, and dedicate himself wholeheartedly to caring for others at the medical dispensary.
Today, seeing him achieve this important milestone and become a professional technician in nursing fills us with immense pride.
Charles, your commitment, your kindness, and your desire to serve your community embody so much of what the Foundation stands for.
We believed in you from the beginning, but you did the work, you followed your dream, and you made it happen.
We are so proud of you and so grateful to have you as part of the Pure Art Foundation family. ❤️
Congratulations, Charles taken in Pucallpa, Peru by @pureartfoundation

I’m incredibly proud to finally share our mini-doc, “One Step at a Time,” created by my close friends at @suited5productions.

This film means so much to me because I feel like it captures, more than anything I’ve shared so far, what this project really means at its core.

There’s something incredibly special about having people around you who not only believe in your vision, but understand it deeply enough to add their own creativity to it and turn it into something greater than you could have made alone.

My friends have poured so much time, thought and care into telling this story, and now we have something that will live far beyond this walk. Something we’ll be able to look back on years from now and remember not only what we did, but why we did it.

I hope this film can make you feel even a fraction of what this project has made me feel.

Thank you to the boys at @suited5productions for believing in this from the beginning and helping me bring it to life.

This is One Step at a Time. ♾️

Watch it. Share it. And if this project means something to you, consider donating to the cause through the link in my bio. ❤️ by @pureartfoundation

As Kerrsen prepares to take his very first step across Peru for the One Step at a Time Initiative, he won’t be walking alone. 🇵🇪❤️
Behind every step is a community—families cheering him on, believing in the journey, and reminding us what this walk is truly about.##43
One man. One journey. One step at a time.
And an entire community walking with him in spirit.

The Runway Is Built ❤️

There was something about last night that felt bigger than a send-off. It was a reminder of what can happen when people come together around something positive, with a shared desire to contribute and make a difference.

After a day of pouring rain, the skies cleared and we gathered by the water at Pure Art to surround Kerrsen with love and encouragement before he leaves for Peru on Saturday.

For months, this community has been building the runway alongside him. Last night felt like everyone gathering at the end of it and saying, “We’ve got you. Now go.” ❤️

And what an evening it was. We heard more about the family of nine who will receive Casa #43 and recorded messages for Kerrsen to carry with him on the trail.

The generosity surrounding this journey has been incredible, and the fundraising will continue right alongside Kerrsen as he begins his 1,000 km walk.

If you’ve been thinking about contributing, please do. Let’s see how much more we can make possible together. 🙏

Thank you to everyone who came, contributed, shared and helped bring us to this moment.

Kerrsen leaves Saturday.

The runway is built. Now go. ❤️🇵🇪

There is something profoundly human about having a place to call home. A place where children can sleep safely at night, where life can unfold with a little more security and a little more hope.
For families living in the slums of Manantay, Pucallpa, Peru, that sense of safety can be far from certain. Homes are often built from whatever materials can be found, leaving families vulnerable to heavy rains, overcrowding, and difficult living conditions.

The C.A.S.T. Program—Construct A Structure Today—was created by the Pure Art Foundation in response to this urgent need, helping families move from precarious living conditions into safe homes that offer security, dignity, and the foundation for a better future.”

This October, 35 volunteers will return to Peru to build Casa #43, a safe home for a family of nine currently living in poverty. With a concrete foundation, secure walls, and a roof that protects them from the elements, this home will offer something simple yet transformative: a safe place from which a family can begin to build its future.

And the story of Casa #43 begins before our volunteers ever lift a hammer.
On August 24, Kerrsen Bridges-Parkinson, a local Canadian volunteer, will take his first step on an extraordinary 1,000-kilometre walk across Peru. For six weeks, he will walk with one purpose: to raise $12,000 CAD to help build Casa #43.

Behind every kilometre will be a family waiting for a home. Behind every donation, another piece of that home will begin to take shape.

By the time our volunteers arrive in October, Kerrsen will have walked hundreds of kilometres carrying this family’s story with him across Peru. And together—with every step, every donation, and every helping hand—we hope to turn that journey into something that will remain long after the footsteps have faded:
a home, a foundation, and a new beginning for a family of nine.

A beautiful moment from this week…

Just before our One Step at a Time launch event, Kerrsen and Robert and Brigitte McKinnon from Pure Art had the opportunity to join Sabrina Marandola on CBC Radio’s Let’s Go to share the vision behind his upcoming 1,000 km journey across Peru in support of Pure Art Foundation.

What began as a volunteer experience has grown into something much bigger… a courageous endeavor rooted in purpose, community, and the desire to help build a home for a family in need.

So grateful to Sabrina and CBC for helping shine a light on this journey and the community gathering around it.
