Craving a healthier twist on caramel corn? Here’s a guilt-free recipe that satisfies those snack cravings without compromising on taste!

Start by adding a couple of tablespoons of popping corn into a paper bag or a silicon, microwaveable popcorn bowl—no need for oil here. Microwave for about 2.5 minutes or until the popping slows. If you prefer the stovetop method, a touch of olive or coconut oil will do the trick. Once popped, transfer the popcorn to your favorite bowl and let it cool for a minute while you whip up your maple caramel sauce. Here’s how I make it:

Grab a small stainless steel pot and turn up the heat to high. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of Pure Sappiness maple syrup and heat until it starts boiling. Keep stirring vigorously until the color begins to change (usually about a minute). Watch carefully. Once it’s ready, spoon the warm caramel over your popcorn and mix thoroughly to coat each piece. For an extra touch, consider adding a pat of butter to the syrup.

Now, all that’s left is to indulge! Enjoy this guilt-free treat as a snack or share it with friends and family for a delightful movie night. Happy snacking!

Pure Sappiness is going on a big trip! Finally, after much hoop jumping, 180 bottles of locally made, dark and syrupy deliciousness are en route to Chile! ✈️🇨🇱 (But shhhh, it's a secret.) Thank you to my clearly very clever global client for supporting local. When you want to say "thank you" to your hard working staff, what better way than with maple syrup?

Pure sappiness.
Pure happiness.

Can you can peaches without sugar? Yes! Since peaches can be canned in just about any liquid, the amount or type of sugar in the syrup doesn’t affect the safety or flavour. Maple canned peaches is an obvious choice for us. We use our Pure Sappiness maple syrup to replace the sugar in any canning recipe. Just use about 2/3rds as much as you would sugar. Maple syrup is much sweeter than sugar, and you’ll need less volume to get the same amount of sweetness compared to white sugar. If you’ve never canned peaches before now’s the time to try it. It’s super easy, fun for the kids and if this lockdown continues… well, you’ll have peaches!!🍑

Our dark maple syrup is a classic go-to for pancakes and waffles, of course. But it’s also beautiful for fish glazes. Pure Sappiness maple syrup is lovingly handcrafted by our friends at the Wagler family farm in Wellesley Ontario, where maple syrup has been a passion and a tradition for generations. No artificial flavours, no dyes, no preservatives, and no sugar added. Just pure, natural, maple syrupy goodness. Mmmm…. Click the link in our bio to get your hands on some Pure Sappiness today!
