Been here for almost 2 months and never been bitten once by a mosquito samantalang paborito akong papakin sa Pinas.

Like "hu is dis poor brown girl?? if I bite her, will i get tuberculosis?" (Lamok, 2026)

syempre english ung wika ng lamok kasi hello EME HAHAHAHA by @purrfect.life.notes

things i learned todei re Japan:

(1) Japan has a really high debt to GDP ratio (malaki utang). More than 200% 😅 For context, nasa 60% ish lang ata Pinas.

But tbf, if ifafactor in lahat ng pautang / investments rin nila sa ibang bansa, bababa naman to 40% ish.

(2) Their aging population and low birth rate has a huge financial impact. Mahal gastos to keep social welfare for the elderly pero ung workforce mo na pinagkukunan ng tax revenues, pakonti nang pakonti.

A huge chunk daw of Japan's debt is to finance welfare.

(3) I have 2 Japanese classmates.

(4) Granting citizenship can sometimes help with birthrates and generally settling down. If walang citizenship ung immigrant esp in Japanese society, the less likely they are to settle down and have kids. So pwede sana tong pathway.

(5) But sabi nila, Japan is investing now in machines to increase productivity. Ung response ng Japanese society sa financial unsustainability of a contracting work force is to industrialize further tapos dun kunin ung margin na ipambabayad sa social welfare.

I guess pwede rin naman 😅 Nahihirapan lang aq itambling konsepto in my brain as Pinay 🥶 by @purrfect.life.notes

It's like Twitter reborn HAHAHA dami kasing anon who use their anonymity to leave poorly worded, sometimes mean, but also sometimes vile comments.

The same people usually have better behavior in IG and FB kasi people know them and can see their conduct. Pero sa Tiktok??? Pasamaan ng ugali ☠️☠️☠️ The algorithm, the anonymity, and general design protect bullies from having good enough repercussions kaya mga namimihasa. by @purrfect.life.notes

KHS curiousity corner (personal takeaways)

1 》30 yrs ago, pag mahirap kang bansa, u die of infectious diseases. Completely preventable kapag may pera bansa mo pero dahil di ka sinwerte sa birth lottery, u have high likelyhood to ☠️

May konsepto na ng self harm ang developed world and leading dahilan na sya ng pagkamatay.

2 》For most of human history, 40% ang global child mortality aka if 10 anak mo, 4 sakanila highly like mamamatay. Ngayon, we are down to just 4.3%. Radical achievement.

3 》Data excludes a lot of people. If yes, this mortality will be much higher.

4 》Sana sinama rin sa data ung needless na pagkamatay ng mga bata because of conflict, pero tbh, di ko rin sure if may datos to. How can we even reach the people who keep track of these deaths? More importantly, what are we doing to stop the deaths?

5 》road crash is still called transport "accidents." and it tops the violence chart.

6 》In America tho, more than cancer or any other diseases, gun violence kills the most children.

7 》Di nauubusan ng topic sa KHS HAHAHAHA theme this quarter ay health so the program team invited experts to discuss topics. Bunot today ay global child mortality at burden of care.

8 》Masarap lunch todei.

9 》I rode my scooter to Denning and got lost and tired and lost again and tired even more
