Last year, @putmankate joined our inaugural Lane 9 ambassador program for collegiate athletes! Her team at NC state, coached by Laurie Henes, takes fueling pretty seriously, and she’s proud of that. Kate joined us to talk about the leadership in the trainers and coaches supporting the Women’s XC (and TF) wolfpack, why she adopted a dog (love!), and how she navigated intense period pain as an athlete.

In episode shout outs to @angelinanapoleon , @katelyntuohy , @_ellyphant_ , @katierains_17 and more! 😏

If you are here to figure out your fueling, period pain, and/or mental health,, we know dogs can help (some or all of the above!), and our Lane 9 clinicians help, too. Check out this conversation with Kate on our pod, and head to Lane9Project dot org slash directory to connect with a clinician near you.

cheering for you, Kate, and the @wolfpack_tf_xc , this XC season! by @putmankate

Gonna be telling this story for years…

If you had told me 8 months ago that I would have done what I did I would have probably laughed at you. Not because of a lack of effort or a lack of support, but a lack of belief and confidence. This sport can take a lot, but damn does it give so much more in the long run.

Took up a new event with @angelinanapoleon by my side, and turns out I found a new love! Who knew that to overcome some mental barriers for myself I had to just go over physical barriers😊

Have a new little perspective now, and excited to take it to the grass in the fall. But for now gonna soak this moment in, and have great gratitude for my people, opportunities, and NY summer ahead♥️ taken in Hayward Field by @putmankate
