🚨 Our digital drop-ins are back and we’re excited to share our Autumn schedule!

Each week, our volunteers will be in libraries across Wandsworth, offering free digital support to help residents get online, build confidence with their devices & access essential services.

📅 Sessions restart today (w/c 14th September) and will run weekly until w/c 14th December, with a short one-week break for half term (w/c 26th October).

These sessions are open to everyone - whether you need help sending an email, filling in an online form or learning new digital skills.

A little behind-the-scenes look at our lovely day with @iamjoannapage ! 👀

Joanna popped in as part of the @vmo2news Tech Rehome Network Fund campaign and it was so lovely having her spend some time with the team and see what goes on behind the scenes at Power 2 Connect.

A special shoutout to our IT volunteer Ted, who gave Joanna a brilliant introduction to the world of tech refurb!

We had a familiar face join us at Power 2 Connect recently!! 👀

The wonderful @iamjoannapage (from shows like @taskmaster and #GavinandStacey !) popped in as part of the @vmo2news Tech Rehome Network Fund campaign and got stuck in with our brilliant IT volunteer, Ted, who showed her the ropes.

It was so lovely having Joanna spend some time with us and get a little behind-the-scenes look at what we do… and she even had a go at some of the tech herself!

Back to school is in full swing and we’ve been busy making sure more students have access to the technology they need to learn and thrive!

This week, one of our brilliant transport volunteers was out on the road delivering refurbished laptops to schools and organisations across the community, including:

Each refurbished laptop gets a new lease of life while helping to close the digital divide and support learners and communities.

We’re feeling pretty ace about this one! 🎾

We’re so excited to have the support of @WimbledonFdn as we continue our mission to close the digital divide!

This funding means we can reach even more people across London with the devices, digital skills and support they need to get connected and feel more confident using technology.

Woohoo our Digital Drop-Ins are officially BACK!!! 🎉

We’ll be working in libraries across Wandsworth to help you with all your tech difficulties. It can be anything from setting up a new phone, to filling in an online form or just figuring out something that’s been driving you mad! Whatever it is, we’ll try our best to get it sorted.

We are following the same schedule as last term:
📍 Battersea Library: Mondays, 10am-12pm
📍 Roehampton Library: Mondays, 2pm-4pm
📍 Battersea Park Library: Tuesdays, 2pm-4pm
📍 Southfields Library: Wednesdays, 2pm-4pm
📍 Wandsworth Town Library: Thursdays, 10am-12pm
📍 Tooting Library: Fridays, 2pm-4pm

As always, no need to book and the sessions are completely FREE!

‘The need for devices is as great as ever.’ 💻

In this video, one of our wonderful transport volunteers shares what they’re seeing on the ground. As we come to the end of Digital Poverty Week and children head back to school, it’s a timely reminder of just how much of school life now happens online.

Without access to a suitable device, children can miss out on learning important digital skills, struggle to keep up with their schoolwork and face barriers that can have a knock-on effect for years to come.

So, if you have an old laptop or other tech sitting unused at home, please do consider donating it to us. ♻️

What would you struggle to do without the internet? 💻

So much of everyday life now happens online - from finding a job and managing money to booking appointments and staying in touch with the people we care about.

Being online is part of everyday life for so many of us, but without reliable access, confidence or digital skills, even simple tasks can become much harder.

This #EndDigitalPovertyWeek, we’re exploring what digital exclusion can look like in everyday life.

This week, we are supporting End Digital Poverty Week.

Across the UK, digital poverty affects up to 19 million people. It can mean not having a suitable device, being unable to afford enough data, struggling with an online service, or not having the confidence and support to use the digital tools now expected in everyday life.

End Digital Poverty Week is a chance to bring those experiences into sharper focus and support the practical work needed to change them.

We are sharing this because digital inclusion is not only a national issue. It is something organisations, communities and individuals can all help move forward.

🚨🚨Back to School Tech Drive!

With the autumn term now beginning for children across Wandsworth, it’s worth remembering that a working laptop is now an essential part of education. Without one, a child can’t do tonight’s homework, do further reading or keep up with their class.

Over time, missing out on basic tech fluency builds a silent barrier that restricts their higher education and job options down the line. 📉

That spare laptop gathering dust in your office, drawer, or cupboard can seriously go a long way!!!
